Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) I love just about anything by King, and this is no exception. It's been several years since I read it, but my memory of it is vivid.

As brutal as the movie was, it was nowhere near to brutally violent as the book!

Breyaniah (breyhall) What I love about Misery is that it is so real. It's not like, let's say, Christine or The Tommyknockers, where the plot is almost supernatural. The occurrences in Misery could really happen, and that is what makes it so terrifying.

The Girl who Loved Tom Gordon is also a book of King's that is "real," if anyone is interested in that. Also, (side note) I believe they picked the perfect actress to portray Annie in the movie.

I agree. The sense of helplessness you have when you read it, it's as if he's a literary magician!

I actually planned to read this one next, thanks for the rec :)
And yes - a brilliant actress!

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) A book I passed on immediately to my sister, who loved it just as much as I did! The movie adaptation did a good job.
