Are Blitzen and Hearthstone a couple?

I dunno. Their relationship aren't really established in the book although it was somehow implied to me: they're Magnus' surrogate parents during his life as a homeless and they care for each other very much.

It was also mentioned that Hearthstone's parents hated him. What if it was more than just his being deaf and mute?

Nope. As far as we all know BlitStone is not a couple. Highly unlikely they would be in my opinion.

Thanks! Alright. I was also looking for any articles about that. I'm sure if they are, Rick would have mentioned it. So far, I haven't found any.

I hope so, too. However, Rick is staying silent about it so we can't be sure.

What can you all expect? Rick only briefly touched upon gay couple through Nico di Angelo and Will Solace in the The Heroes of Olympus series finale. People throw riots whenever they hear the word gay so I'm surprised Rick had the guts to even draft up a gay character and paired him off to another. It made me happy, but I don't think the Author wants to kick off this series with hey everyone Magnus surrogate street parents are gay. So who knows, but I do get that vibe that Blitzen and Hearthstone are gay lovers, but only time will tell.

I don't think Riordan will clarify the relationship between Blitz and Hearth and I prefer he leaves the status of their relationship to the readers' imagination.

That's true. Rick said he added a gay character because he felt like everyone should be represented in the books. That's why there are so many races. It's also the reason why he gave Jason glasses, and Hearthstone s deaf. I personally love the fact that he does this, but I don't think that Blitzstone will ever be a couple.

I hope they are a couple. The signs in the book seem like there is a big possibility they are, but Rick hasn't really said anything so...

Hearth and Blitz's relationship is too warm and brotherly for me to ship it. I love the two precious knuckleheads just as they are. ✪ ω ✪
