Barbara ★ I did the first two but the third one scared me so I skipped it. Therefore, I'll probably need much help with running the team. Megan, I'm glad you have experience so you can help.

message 17: by Rose (new)

Rose | 633 comments I did the third one. I am wondering how the rule changes affect the tone of the challenge. It got quite interesting last time.

message 18: by Barbara ★ (last edited Oct 19, 2015 04:39PM) (new)

Barbara ★ Do you know if we have to read books related to our God? I keep seeing posts in the information thread where theme-related books have been chosen.

ETA: Never mind, the Mods answered this question. No we don't.

message 19: by Rose (new)

Rose | 633 comments Apparently there were some gladiator goals that related to gods and teams. I'm guessing people are getting prepared if that turns out to be some of the basis for the new goals for this round.

message 20: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ The Mod just said those goals were going to be changed since some of the Teams have obscure Gods which would be difficult to find books for.

I just wanted to make sure we didn't need various books team related. One or two I could find but not more. Thankfully we don't have to since I don't currently have any on tap.

message 22: by Emily (new)

Emily (themily394) | 244 comments Hi! Just checking in and introducing myself - I'm Emily! I haven't done anything like this before, so I might need a little guidance depending on how all this goes once we officially get started. (:

Rose | 633 comments Hi Emily :)

It will all get more clear once all the teams are settled in. It's not as scary as it looks.

message 24: by Emily (new)

Emily (themily394) | 244 comments I hope not! lol. I'm really excited, though, so I can't wait for it to start.

message 25: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (diamond_rebel) | 190 comments Hello, I'm Hannah. This is the first time I have done anything like this. I'm a little nervous but excited. I can't wait to get started!

message 26: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ Welcome Emily and Hannah. This is my first time since the rules were changed (Gladiator Games) so we can learn together. Though in the past, it was never as hard as it seemed.

message 27: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ JENNA, please accept my friend request.

MEGAN & ROSE, please send Jenna a friend request so we can all communicate and see her shelves.

I do not see your Tower Teams Shelf. Can you post the link?

So you skipped the smoother one of all?

Well, apart from the buddy reads... those were a bit scarier to deal with (from a mod point of view) not so bad from the members :D

Amanda (daughterofoak) | 3473 comments UGH...the buddy read thread was chaos last round. I am so happy we don't have to do that again! :)

Hi Team Lir!
I'll be your mentor for this round so let me know if you have any questions or issues. You can find me on Team Flidais or you can send me a PM and I'll answer ASAP.

Captains- Please let me know if you need any extra help! :)

Honestly I couldn't figure out the instructions/rules and just thought it sounded too darn complicated since I was also doing a few other team challenges at that time.

message 32: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ Thanks Jenna and Dee. It will help things if I have all this before we start so I can check books read, pages, etc.

I see other co-captains there so I wondered if you have been invited to the Captains Group?

Yes I have, though I haven't made a lot of comments there.

I sent her one the day I found out the team roster, and she accepted it :)

message 38: by Megan (new)

Megan (celtic_girl) | 728 comments So what's everyone reading?

I'm currently reading 4 books, A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1) by Sarah J. Maas The Lawman Returns (Wrangler's Corner #1) by Lynette Eason 99 Days by Katie Cotugno Aloha Rose (Quilts of Love #12) by Lisa Cox Carter , and am enjoying them all so far - some more than others.

message 39: by Emily (new)

Emily (themily394) | 244 comments Right now I'm reading the Lorien Legacies series, I'm on book 3. They're... okay. My friend has promised they get better, so I'm crossing my fingers.

Question: How do you put book covers in like that? I've seen it and have no idea! lol.

message 40: by Barbara ★ (last edited Oct 21, 2015 04:20PM) (new)

Barbara ★ Click on the "Add Book/Author" link just above the Comment box. Enter your book title and at the bottom of the popup box, clink COVER instead of LINK which is the default.

Cover gives you: Sealed with a Curse (Weird Girls, #1) by Cecy Robson
Link gives you: Sealed with a Curse

Thank you! I feel this was so simple I should have been able to figure it out, but I never even thought about what that button did. lol.

message 44: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (diamond_rebel) | 190 comments I am currently reading Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer and Shadow of Night (All Souls Trilogy, #2) by Deborah Harkness . I just finished Necronomicon by H.P. Lovecraft so I'll probably be picking up a new horror/scary read to finish off this month as well!

I've heard good things about Cinder, how are you enjoying it?

Megan (celtic_girl) | 728 comments Dee wrote: "i am working on the Bower File Series, Pawn by Steven James, The Rook (The Patrick Bowers Files, #2) by Steven James, and The Knight (The Patrick Bowers Files, #3) by Steven James are done, saving others for the contest."

I read those books too and loved them! I still have to read The Bishop (The Patrick Bowers Files, #4) by Steven James The Queen (Patrick Bowers Files, #5) by Steven James The King (Patrick Bowers Files, #6) by Steven James Checkmate (Patrick Bowers, #7) by Steven James , but I'm hoping to reread the Knight to freshen myself on the series and then read the ones I listed. Have you read Opening Moves (Patrick Bowers Files, #0.5) by Steven James ? That's the first one I read, and while it was good it was also very gruesome so it took me awhile to get through it.

I started the first book a long time ago and still haven't finished it. Don't know if I ever will, though I haven't shelved it as dnf yet as I hate not finishing books.

message 48: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (diamond_rebel) | 190 comments I am enjoying it, I'm almost done. The premise is fascinating. I'll be interested in how the tie other characters in later on in the books. Definitely worth the read I think.

It's definitely not a series I would say you should put at the top of your list to finish. It's alright, my curiosity is getting the best of me which is why I'm continuing the series.

message 50: by Rose (new)

Rose | 633 comments Isn't the Lorien Legacies from Fry's (Million Little Pieces) company? Kind of fascinating to read about the different takes on that kind of publishing/development firm.
