We just created this thread, so you're the first. I'll move other over if I come across them and hopefully others post here as well.
Hey all,My novel is on Goodreads here - https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
I'm not an Inkshares author at the moment, but maybe with my next book.
I also have a blog where I talk about writerly things - https://clairelouisenorton.wordpress....
This is my first post, but I've been a lurker for a while trying to learn about how Inkshares works.
Hi everyone, hope you're all well,My debut ebook is free of charge, and I would really welcome some reviews/feedback.
It is titled 'The Adventure of Stan and the Emerald of Foundation', and is a YA fantasy which can be downloaded here: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...
Thanks
Thanks for the posts and welcome for the community. Did you know that you can upload drafts of existing books to Inkshares as long as you retain the distribution rights?
You can upload sample chapters as a draft of an existing work to share and get feedback on Inkshares. You can attempt to fund your work at any point or leave it as a draft forever.
I have one book in production, none currently funding and several in idea or draft forms to collect feedback to decide which one to write next.

I know I'm new at all this, but aren't forums like this only read by other writers trying/hoping to publicise their own works?
Seems kind of self-defeating, no?
I suppose I'm missing the point, somehow, so if somebody could tell me the point?

It is true, this group is primarily designed to support writers using the Inkshares platform. We provided a place where users of that platform could share their works with the other writers. As the group grew, writers outside the platform began to make promotional posts throughout the discussions.
Since we are all writers and want to support even those who are not interested or undecided on the Inkshares platform, we created this space for promotions.

Hanne, the point of this group isn't for other writers to promote each other, it's for writers to come together to discuss ways they can work together to get more readers. It extends beyond this to writers discussing and sharing ideas and strategies. We're all united by the common goal of trying to reach readers. However, that said, it's innate to this process that we will want to help each other out, so this thread (and the whole promote your/others works folder) is so that we have a place to inform on this. Likewise, the review/request feedback folder contains some great spots to ask questions and get input.

Thanks Joe. Guess I'll get the hang of things as I go along.

Thanks John. Confusion reigns in my head, but cyber space tends to do that to me.
