Sophie (sawphie) The Wheel of Time is one of the first fantasy series I discovered when I was a teenager and it contributed to my love of the genre. The French have a bad habit of separating english books in two, so I actually read 12 books of the series... I don't know if I got bored or if reading the 7th book in english was too much for me (the french translation wasn't out yet, and I wasn't used to reading a lot in english at that time), but I wasn't able to go beyond half of this book.

I'm starting it again now, hoping that I will remember what the story's about (thanks wikipedia). If I don't like it, I'll definitely know to stop this series.

Anastasia (anastasiaharris) | 319 comments I also read just part of this series. It was good, but became boring as It continued. Hopefully it is more interesting since you have started it again after a rest.

Sophie (sawphie) I just finished the first volume of the french edition, this is taking sooo long! If I wasn't reading it for the unfinished book, it might have given up! I'm really not sure I'm going to finish this series...

Sophie (sawphie) I just finished the book, pfew... If I wasn't reading it for the "book I never finished" week, I would never have finished it... I'm definitely done with this series, too bad because I like the world and the story. I just can't stand the writing, why does the author have to describe in so much details the little gestures and expressions of the characters? Why? Sometimes it is useful to make the action more vivid by detailed descriptions, but in every conversation each woman smooth their dress 3 times and hide their frown. Gggrr
