I'm above the 49th parallel, here in Ontario, Canada. Recreational reading is not something I have had a lot of time for in the past (just way too busy with technical stuff) but when I can, I have always enjoyed Science Fiction and Mystery. Strangely, I probably enjoy reading Mystery and writing science fiction. What I have truly enjoyed is world building, and trying to do it the 'hard' way: keeping it as close to real as possible, with only one or two way-out assumptions. I love physics, for example, and so try to make my writing true to that, but its hard to find fiction that does that.My goal here, though, is to figure out how all this works, now that I am not as mobile as I used to be.
Now, my thumbnail pictures on this site are very small, and I hope I don't embarrass anybody, but are David, Nat and Christopher all the same person?
Greeting from Sydney, Australia. I'm an American originally from Tyler, Texas but I travel the world and have recently completed and published my first fantasy novel. As for worldbuilding, it's almost as fun as writing but can take a very long time to flesh everything out. Having a screenwriter and game developer background, I've created many worlds. But at the moment I have two worlds that I'm building upon. One is a generic typical fantasy world with a wide array of high-fantasy systems and creatures. I have another fantasy world that I've been working years on and plan to use for film, games and future books. I call this world Agrobathe and in the spirit of J.R.R. Tolkien I'm building a very culture and geographically rich and fleshed out world.
