Bam cooks the books (bamcooks) This is one of those series that I was aware of but kept putting off reading. I thought of it immediately for this week's topic.

I liked this one enough to continue the series (I stopped at #3), but I found the books lacked the humor I enjoyed a lot in the TV show.

Hmm, interesting. I'll have to watch a few episodes afterwards to compare since I've never watched them either. I have seen reviews that said they did a good job of picking actors to match Lindsay's characters. What did you think?

The TV show cast is very good. Some characters are different in the books and the TV show, so it's a little difficult to compare them, but I preferred Dexter in the show :)
I didn't enjoy all the seasons of the show, but the first were very good and unusual.

Luisa (deborahluisa) I chose the same book! (I finished reading last week)
I liked, it was enjoyable. :)

Bam cooks the books (bamcooks) Starting today. I was able to get it on Kindle from my library.

Megan (megan_morris) | 170 comments I didn't read this for the challenge, but I have read it. I actually really liked it! Hope you enjoy it!

Peter I agree with Zaz - the book wasn't as good as the show. The book was interesting, but I found it just didn't compare with the show; it didn't have the same humour, suspense or depth of characters. The book was ok, but I didn't continue with the book series because I didn't enjoy the writing.

Bam cooks the books (bamcooks) I liked the book well enough, with its interesting twist of being told by a serial killer who's been taught to channel his urges to kill only those who deserve it. I've never seen the tv series and might have to check that out and compare.

Peter I guess I enjoyed the book, but I read it after watching the series so I was always comparing them. I think they pulled off the "attitude" in the show a lot better. I found the Dexter of the book was inconsistent at times and he didn't come off as intelligent and smooth as he was made out to be.

If you check out the show, the first 4 seasons are the best with season 4 topping them. After season 4 I found the show slowly loses quality.

Bam cooks the books (bamcooks) Thanks, Peter.
