I read this back in 1982, when it was the only Bulgarian fiction I could find in English translation before visiting Bulgaria. I remember it as excellent, so I can recommend it, but can say no more.Nathan "N.R." wrote: "Георги Марков (Georgi Markov) is/was a Bulgarian dissident. I don't know much about him. His one hit is The Truth That Killed which has no English reviews.
