I haven't read many of his books, only excerpts and "The Last Ride". I do like the movies of his novels though, and he is a role model for many romance writers.
I've seen message in a bottle, and I must have read about 10 books. He's certainly a model for me. I love his endings especially in 1 book which was almost paranormal. I'll find the book in due time and I'll post the name - not the ending of course.
In true believer the beginning bored me, there was no girl the guy would date and that drove me crazy.

I just researched ... my memory. His most unusual, unexpected ending NO ONE could ever guess is that of "Best of me". Truly amazing.
And a fine romance coupled with an amazing, very scary thriller is in "Safe Haven". The scene at the end is awesome.
Yes, I had guessed it's "Best of Me". It's my favourite of his movies. :-) And "Safe Haven" comes a close second, although the ending of the movie left me in tears. It's different from the book, or so people say.
The usually bittersweet endings in his works have kinda turned me off him. I'm in all the way for HEA or at least HFN, and lol, Sparks makes me cry too much :) But the man is a master at his craft, for sure!
