Jim Liston (jimsgotweb) | 3 comments I have a question for everyone.
What strategies would you use if you had unlimited funds to promote your book/eBook?
Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Just forget about costs and try to imagine your "dream" promotion/marketing strategy.

Thanks,
Jim

Jenni | 39 comments Hi, I live in France but my books are in English.
Dragonz Eye
My first series of books are for 8-12 year olds so I would promote them through schools, reading extracts, answering questions, promoting the joys of writing...
I would also get my books endorsed by authors such as JK Rowling.
I would have a fantastic book trailer video made and some amazing posters. It would be advertised in a huge range of newspapers and magazines as well as be promoted in book stores, with Life size models of some of the characters.
I would set up a dragon fan site and link to other dragon related books, blogs and sites....
That's a start anyway, I'm sure I can think of more...

J.L. Louw | 2 comments Since I'm basically on the verge of getting my first novel out into the world, and find myself researching promotional techniques, I can definitely say it's a very interesting question to ponder.

Right now I am trying to set up the idea that my books are not standalone. I have about twenty books planned, all part of an interwoven landscape of ideas, functional on multiple worldly scale. This is a difficult concept to convey and at the core of what I am struggling with.

If I had limitless funding though, honestly, I would go on a full-scale rampage. Firstly, the idea I really want to put forth is that sense of connectivity, creating websites and approaching social networks on a level to craft that vision. I'd want to showcase the flow of my worlds, one into the other in the same way that I wish to achieve through my writing.

Secondly, I love art. I am terrible at it, and that is the reason why I appreciate it so much, but artists can be expensive. Since that would no longer be a problem, I rather enjoy the idea of employing a few full-time artists to bring some of my concepts to life on canvas. This will be incorporated into the web project, off course.

Lastly, I would take all of the art assets and construct advertisement campaigns. These will range from teasers to full television advertisements. The idea is to start off disjointed, and from there build this concept that not all is what it appears to be and through the art convey the vision of these worlds functioning in junction with one another.

Hopefully that will lead readers to my books, and most importantly, I hope they would enjoy it.

Scott Chapman (scottwilliamchapman) | 25 comments The KDP free promotional system is a great way to get your book out there.
Two things you need are word of mouth and Amazon reviews, both can cme from the Free Promo.

Of my two books, I think i have given away over two thousand copies. This has no cost to me, and I know that many of my reviews on .com and .co.uk have come from this source.
