SFF Readalongs led by Kitty G discussion

I have decided to divide this just into the 4 books within this time and see if that means we get more discussion going so if you're going to use a huge spoiler then please use the 'spoiler tags' from the 'some html is ok' section (just copy and paste and replace the ... with your spoiler).

Let's get going :)

I've read the prologue and chap 1 and I have to say, very happy that Kruppe seems to be coming back in this and we're focusing a bit more on Darujastan too :)

I've finished up to Chapter 2. Yes being back in Darujhistan with Kruppe and the old Bridgeburner crew felt really good.

The next chapter is in Black Coral - finally we get back to the Tiste Andii (after having enough of the Edur for now, with the exception of Trull :'( )

I'm currently at the start of Chap 5 - Have to say loving seeing all the people and creatures we've met before coming back. Apsalar, Cutter, Kellenved, Anomander, Torvald Nom, Kruppe...

Just a load of really good characters, and a ridiculously big plot again so I feel a little lost at points still but that's always a little bit expected! I don't know if I will make it through this whole book this month, but I hope to get a lot more focus on this in the last week of November :)

Also, really like Harllo and the way his section has been told. He's kind of cute in the numbers, and way he organises thoughts. Just a bit naive. Not a fan of Snell though.

Gruntle and Bedek are back too!

And now Dukier! How am I ever to keep track of them all?! :)

I do have to say that the Erikson style of writing is far superior to the Esslemont reads though. Just SO improved in terms of the style, tone and descriptions.

Iskarul Pust makes me chuckle so much I do have to say!!
Also the Gaz scene was fairly disturbing! :-/

Just to let you know I have extended the reading time for this one to end of December as I will never finish this before the end of this month with over 1,000pgs to go :) Hopefully it'll give us a bit of a breather between this and the next! Hope you don't mind TS

I just reached the start of Chap 5 as well.

Gosh, I wonder what the consequence of Anomander Rake and the Tiste Andii being forsaken by Mother Dark is going to be.. :(
