sorry for being so late to this, and not really getting many replies. Hope you've found your way, and made yourself at home on Goodreads though. If you need anything, i'd still be more than willing to offer any words/help that I might know. that said, I don't know as much as I try to make myself sound lol just trying to be helpful ^_^

Hi Michael,
Thanks for that. I must admit that I am not very active yet. But i hope to change that.
Hi Michael,
Thanks for that. I must admit that I am not very active yet. But i hope to change that.
I am a new writer. I have had an idea for a Fantasy Novel for several years and only recently started writing it. Writing is not something that I’ve ever tried to do, and I am new to both writing and the writing community. I started using the Snowflake Method and have my main characters, plots, outline and general feel of the book, and last weekend started writing scenes. I am looking for feedback, critiques, and general advice in all areas.
Hi JD,
I have never heard of the Snowflake Method. I think writing is something that you must allow to happen and not plan too much - certainly not for the first draft. Don't get stuck in methods or advice that may not be suitable for you or for your story. The best way to find your personal voice is to write what comes easily and see where it leads you. Characters have a habit of growing up (like children) once they've been created and they go their own way. There is no one best way to write and until you actually have a draft (even if only bits) it is hard to make suggestions.

Thank you for your advice. I'm working on the draft now. Hopefully will have something to view soon.
Tena koe! I have just joined the group and reading through some of the posts. I am writing my first novel - a fantasy novel inspired by Maori and Norse mythology.Am hoping to find some beta readers to critique the first couple chapters. If you are based in Wellington and/or interested in sharing ideas about books and writing, please add me as a friend :)

Hi Nonen! how is your draft going?
Welcome to The Writing Desk:https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...
This is something I've just created, but I'm hoping to get it up and going. The best of wishes to all on their writing adventures.

I am Mirjam (writing as Nonen Titi) and I am new to Goodreads and to this group.
I live in Wellington and have been self-publishing since 2008 and I write both fiction and non fiction for different age groups.
I am still trying to find my way around Goodreads and I would love some advice on how to go about the author information.
Thanks
