Zaz | 2969 comments Which books have your read so far you found creepy (horror-like creepy of course, 50 Shades doesn't count... don't hit me!)?

Jody (jodybell) | 3479 comments We Have Always Lived in the Castle - Shirley Jackson did such a great job of building a creepy, unsettling atmosphere. I loved it!

Zaz | 2969 comments I second Bird Box, the atmosphere was creepy as the characters can never see what happen outside.

This is more twisted and fucked up than "scary" but it is definitely one to check out if you like unique and twisted books.

Maple (maplerie) | 1025 comments I can't say I've found a book lately that has truly creeped me out. I know a lot of people were talking about Bird Box this year, but I found myself really annoyed with it. It was like reading an M. Night Shyamalan movie.

Raeann (broadwaypants) | 100 comments I just finished Slade House, which I found pretty creepy. It's the first book I've read by David Mitchell, and I think it was a good introduction. I've heard people say Slade House was too short, but I think adding onto it would have taken away the sense of urgency the book needed to make it truly creep the reader out.

Rachel A. (abyssallibrarian) | 3287 comments Little Girls by Ronald Malfi
Defending Jacob by William Landay (not a horror book, but it definitely has some creepy parts)
