ilovebooksgirl | 11 comments Mod
omg hi Taryn! glad you could make it!!

message 12: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (thedarkestpartsofsnow) Yay Taryn, you're my hero,it's 7 am in OZ!!!

message 13: by R.A. (new)

R.A. You can call me Rachael! LOL It's weird but when they converted my profile page to an author page they made my "first name" R.A. Someday I'll figure out how to fix it. My tech skills are pretty low...

Cherry (_forevermint) (_forevermint) | 35 comments Yay hello!! And Taryn!! You made it!

message 15: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (thedarkestpartsofsnow) Hello Rachael!! Well, how did you enjoy the Accident Season then?

message 16: by R.A. (new)

R.A. I've done live discussions for school but never on Goodreads. This is new and fun. I want to talk about Elsie. She was the most fascinating character, I thought, because she is the most mysterious.

message 17: by R.A. (new)

R.A. Sandra, I loved this book. It was crazy and spooky and so well written. <3

Lara (writinglaraferrari) Ferrari | 28 comments Sorry I'm late! Hi, everyone

Cherry (_forevermint) (_forevermint) | 35 comments Elsie was definitely fascinating, from beginning to end! I was a little scared of her character in the beginning, but after finding out who she really was, my mind was blown.

Hi Lara! Welcome to the discussion *waves*

Lara (writinglaraferrari) Ferrari | 28 comments Did anyone else see the twist coming?

Lara (writinglaraferrari) Ferrari | 28 comments Anyone... Not anyone else!

message 22: by ilovebooksgirl (new)

ilovebooksgirl | 11 comments Mod
yeah, in the beginning, i was a little freaked out by the fact that Elsie was in all of the pictures with Cara because it was so bizarre hahaha

message 23: by R.A. (new)

R.A. Hi, Lara!

Taryn, That was a big twist at the end. I thought she was alive until the summer before this book starts but it turns out that she was dead when she was a baby, from what I understand. Also, there was the crazy twist with Sam's dad.

message 24: by ilovebooksgirl (new)

ilovebooksgirl | 11 comments Mod
no, i definitely did NOT see that coming in the end, Lara *gapes* i was sitting in my bed with my mouth hanging open

Lara (writinglaraferrari) Ferrari | 28 comments I think it was clever that some people didn't think the 'evidence' was as compelling as Cara. Made me question her reliability as a narrator.

message 26: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (thedarkestpartsofsnow) Yes, I agree! The writing style was really captivating! What impressed me most is that I never saw the ending coming. The author was able to really surprise me, and that rarely happens. And yes, Elsie was a complete mystery and that was also so well done by the author

Cherry (_forevermint) (_forevermint) | 35 comments I had a suspicion that Elise died on the bridge because of that newspaper clipping, but definitely not when she was a baby! That part got me

message 28: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (thedarkestpartsofsnow) Hi Lara!

message 29: by R.A. (new)

R.A. I did see the stepdad and Nick being abusive coming though. The stepdad being the Tin Man was a little surprising to me.

Lara (writinglaraferrari) Ferrari | 28 comments Hi Sandra! Yes, Taryn, I'm also confused about the secrets booth. If Elsie didn't start it... Who did?

message 31: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (thedarkestpartsofsnow) Ah, good one Lara! Yes, everyone questioned Cara and what she saw in the pictures!

Lara (writinglaraferrari) Ferrari | 28 comments Oh me too - she is such an inspiration. I really feel I learned a lot from her writing style.

message 33: by R.A. (new)

R.A. I definitely felt like Cara was meant to be an unreliable narrator. I think it added a level of complexity to the book.

Lara (writinglaraferrari) Ferrari | 28 comments Definitely. That was so important, Rachel. Personally, I think I would have preferred it if it remained ambiguous...

message 35: by R.A. (new)

R.A. I was a little confused about the secrets booth because, like you said, there were newspaper articles about it so someone had to have been doing it.

message 36: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (thedarkestpartsofsnow) Exactly Rachael, if not Elsie, who did it?

Cherry (_forevermint) (_forevermint) | 35 comments I'm still trying to figure that one out too Rachel, if Elsie died long ago, who could have started the secrets booth? Unless she was able to do that as a ghost..?

Lara (writinglaraferrari) Ferrari | 28 comments Well she did manage to set the traps as a ghost...

message 39: by Ghadir (new)

Ghadir Hroub | 6 comments Hey guys! Sorry I'm late.

message 40: by ilovebooksgirl (new)

ilovebooksgirl | 11 comments Mod
yeah, i totally agree with everyone! the secrets booth is the only thing that's killing me because it couldn't have been Elsie since she's a ghost... and we can't really think of a good explanation to how it got starts *rubs forehead* *thinking*

message 41: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (thedarkestpartsofsnow) Hey Ghadir! But did anyone really really see her? All the teachers couldn't remeber her...if you run a booth you need to get in contact with the pupils, no?!

Lara (writinglaraferrari) Ferrari | 28 comments Hi Ghadir!

Also... Why did she have to go away for a month every year? And now that she is gone (for good?) will they be in danger all the time??

message 43: by R.A. (new)

R.A. Is it possible that the dream-catchers and the doll in the trap were part of some spell to make her able to interact with the mortal plane of existence? There was some talk of witches and there was a file for Elsie with the witch house as an address.

message 44: by Ann (new)

Ann (annreads) (annreadss) Hi guys!!

Cherry (_forevermint) (_forevermint) | 35 comments Cara did say she set the traps...but how? Also, can someone remind me why she set the traps in the first place.

Is it possible that Elsie possessed Cara and did all those things while in her body? I'm just throwing theories out there now lol

message 46: by R.A. (new)

R.A. Cara did mention a story about fly paper before she found fly paper on the trees, right?

message 47: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (thedarkestpartsofsnow) When she went away, wasn't she trying and searching to "eliminate" the danger? That's what I thought. Or maybe that was the timeframe she died so many years ago.

message 48: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (thedarkestpartsofsnow) I truely believe that by remembering what happened to Cara and her family it was like some kind of catharsis that put the danger at bay. Also, Elsie's disappearance marked closure for me.

Sandra (gotathingforthings) | 26 comments Wow a live chat? o: Hi guys! Sorry for just bumping in your conversation.

Another Sandra! HI!

I also don't know what to write, but yes I also feel that there was a lot of unanswered questions in the book.

I really liked the secrets booth though!

message 50: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (thedarkestpartsofsnow) Hello Ann and Sandra!! :-D Welcome!
