Welcome to November - or as I like to call it, the calm before the storm.

I'm working on a nifty humorous holiday read for next month, so in the meantime, we're going to kick back and go with a moderator's choice this month.

Two fine moderators have been itchin' to return to Discworld, so we'll be reading Thud! . . . if anyone would care to join us.

This is a Watch book, featuring one of my favorite characters - Sam Vimes. There's also something about dwarfs and trolls. Who knows, perhaps an Igor or two will turn up.

It's Discworld, after all.

Yay! Off to put in my order for a copy!

No spoilers, though. Go read.

I loved it too. I really had no complaints this time. All my favorite things except the witches. Okay, so I guess I could complain that there weren't any witches.

Yeah . . . it's pretty unlikely I'm gonna get this one done today, but I'll keep plugging away. The Watch books are never my favorites, but I'm curious about the new vampire.

The calendar lied. I'm pretty sure November only had ten days, not thirty.

Thank you for the explanation! I feel like a more productive human being. I got so much done for only 10 days -- not quite enough to fill 30 days, but 10, yeah.

I love the Watch books, Melki. You are clearly wrong.

It happens occasionally, though don't tell my husband. As far as he knows, I am always right.

Well, of course, we have to keep the husbands believing that. For their own good.

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 510 comments We men have a fdual processing brain that allows us to hold two contradictory views at the same time.

hence we can agree that our womenfolk are always right whilst knowing this is not the case

But be careful how you talk about that, Will.
Come to think of it, you're divorced. I'd say that suggests you aren't as good at this as you think you are.

Sometimes it's best just to just keep the peace and go with the tried and true "Yes, dear."

I prefer to think of it as 'escaped' rather than 'divorced'...

LOL, Will! Probably a good attitude.
