Songbird leaped up the ravine and took a deep breath of the fresh air. "Coming, Bramblestar?" she mewed, flicking her tail happily.
Songbird twitched her whiskers. "Really? You should get out more," she teased, brushing against him as they walked.
"I'll get out of camp if it's the only way to stop the cat from pestering me all day. Birdsong for example. Sometimes she just doesn't shut up," Bramblestar smiled. "At least she's lovable,"
She laughed."At least you have them." Songbird meowed. "You always have someone to trust, someone to lean on. Someone who will fight for you."
Her bright voice concealed her wistful loneliness.
"Someone I can trust, definitely. Someone to lean on or fight for me? Not really. She's much too sensitive for that," Bramblestar meowed. "Besides, I'd rather play the protector than the protected. And she knows that. The only time she decides to be protector is when she finds out I have an injury that I hadn't told anyone about and then she'll most likely drag me by my tail to the Medicine Den!"
Bramblestar's eyes widened slightly before he narrowed them and took advantage of this moment. "Oh, really?" He purred softly. His mind was already set on flirting and it was something he hadn't done in a long time. He happily pushed his worries away, finally feeling like his normal self for once, and that was something Birdsong had been trying to bring back ever since he had become deputy. The weight of the duties had crushed him and he had lost his playfulness. Just go with the flow, Bramble, go with the flow. He smiled.
She looked away, embarrassed. "I meant... You're our leader. And..." She faltered, knowing she was butchering it. She fell silent.
She sighed and stared at the ground. "Fine. I care about you. Because you are my leader and you need to be strong for your clan."
She smirked and shoved him back into a tree. "Says who?"
She flicked her tail, inviting him to come at her.
Songbird purred and pretended to go limp, then kicked her legs up and flung him off. "Well, if the leader can't beat a mere she-cat, I'm not sure he should be listened to."
She crouched and wiggled her haunches tauntingly.
"So, birds can eat mice too, I'm just the better prey." Graypelt purred as he landed on top of her and put his hindpaws on each side of her body to stop her from rolling to the side.
Graypelt purred and gave her a tender lick as well. "No I wasn't expecting that, but thanks." Graypelt said.
Graypelt quickly caught a squirrel on the ground and then used his hind leg to grab another squirrel."I didn't know squirrels would fight each other." Graypelt said.
Graypelt smelled the air and leaped on top of a trush and buried it.Graypelt smelled the air again and all of his fur fluffed up. "Am I the only one who smells badger?" Graypelt asked.
Graypelt unseathed his claws. "That badger is a bit too close too our territory if you ask me." Graypelt said.
"The trail is really strong here, why aren't there some badgers that don't smell like an attack on the nose." Graypelt complained.
Graypelt spotted the badger and ran to the side of it, clawing the badger in his flesh."Over here." Graypelt yelled, more to make noise than to speak to it.
Graypelt ran to Flareheart. "No Flareheart." Graypelt whispered. Graypelt went underneath the badger and penetrated the badger's heart.
Lightningpelt herd Poppyheart call her name and looked up from the mouse she was hunting, the mouse scurried off and she padded over to Poppyheart. "Yeah?" She said
"Flareheart is in the medicine den due to a badger attack, she wanted to talk to you." Poppyheart said.
"Ohmygosh Is she ok?!?!?!?!" Lightningpelt demanded.
