2015 Reading Challenge [Closed] discussion

So.. I cheated.. I read this book at the very beginning of the year. (I know, the horror!)

This book is made for people already familiar and in love with the TV show, Castle. If it wasn't for the show and my established adoration for the show's characters, I would have hated this book.

When I started this book, I took the characters as they were in the book, and did not associate them to their counterpart characters in the TV show. They drove me insane! The banter and dislike of the main characters works in the show, but it is absolutely painful in a book. I had to imagine the TV show characters that corresponded with the book characters in order to continue the book.

Also, there were a few "scenes" in the book that didn't make sense. These would have worked fine in the TV show, but shouldn't have had a place in the book.

In all, if you are to read this book, I would suggest that you think of the characters as they are in the show.
