Queereaders discussion

Newblood here from northeast GA, just saying hey. I recently got back into reading for pleasure after a long hiatus and I'm trying to diversify my reading a bit. Thought joining the group might give me an introduction to some authors and books that suit my interests. A little bit about myself: I work for a software company, I'm a dungeon master for a local rpg group here in my home town, I like to draw/paint in my free time, and I have a dog (blue heeler).

Welcome Luke! I work for a software company myself - it's a good job and I work with some great people, but it can be tiring on occasion though.

Welcome Luke! What kind of reading are you interested in?

Well, I joined the group because I was interested in finding some books with a queer focus. I live kind of in a remote area as I mentioned before and I feel pretty removed (maybe stranded?) from what's going on out there in the bigger world. I thought finding some books might give me an outlet for some recent things.

That aside, I'm really interested in graphic novels, fantasy and science fiction. I want to make it my personal goal for this coming year to get in touch with what's going on in those genres and see if I could try my hand at writing something of my own. I'm also interested in exploring poetry. I've really only been exposed to a few poets (Charles Bukowski, Saul Williams, E.E. Cummings) but I really enjoy writing poetry of my own.

Do look at the group's bookshelves for all kinds of fiction.
