Courtney Cranberry (CourtneyCranberry) | 3 comments It just looked so lonely here without any discussions. So here is an ice breaker: Who is everyone's favorite author? I'm personally on a Neil Gaiman kick :) love him and Terry Pratchett.

Barnyard ISF (barnyardisf) | 5 comments lol, yeah thanks! As a kid I read a lot of Jim Kjelgaard. I kind of quit reading in school a bit b/c I didn't like reading books about humans instead of the descriptions of animal behavior. Then while traveling Homer's The Odyssey got me focused & in the woods Alex Haley'sRoots: The Saga of an American Family really got me reading again.

As far as favorite Authors go, I love Alan Paton & Peter S. Beagle. Naguib Mahfouz's Journey of Ibn Fattouma is one of my absolute favorite books. Also The Forgotten Beasts of Eld by Patricia A. McKillip is kind of a description of my soul, lol. Jack Whyte with his Camulod Chronicles stole my heart & imagination. As well as Kim Falconer & her Quantum Encryption/Enchantment series. I really love her worlds.

Charlie (deasphodel) I'm really into HP Lovecraft and Kurt Vonnegut right now and I'm currently reading 'American Gods' by Neil Gaiman. He's always going to be one of my favourites

Thelumpyconglomerate | 1 comments Dean Lorey and R.L. Stine are definitely my favorites

Alice I love The Sandman by Neil Gaiman! I'm reading The Kindly Ones right now. My other favourite is Anne Rice. Just the Vampire Chronicles, though. I haven't read much else by her. Sometimes she gets overly descriptive, which some people don't like, but I think it goes well with the characters.

Barnyard ISF (barnyardisf) | 5 comments I read all of her Vampire Chronicles while I was in high school. The boys in the photography dark room would always talk about them, so I figured I'd check it out. I really enjoyed the books. The ranch I worked at had facades called boom town that they used for wild west shows. I would sit on one of the porches early in the morning, the forest thick w/fog & I read them while waiting for everyone else to wake up. It was nice. =)

Allison | 3 comments Alice, I'm also reading The Kindly Ones right now! I'm about half way though. It's great plane reading.

I finished them. I started reading them like five years ago and then I stopped so that they wouldn't be over too fast. But now they are, alas. D: They're supposed to be making a movie soon though and I'm very excited.
Also, Barnyard, Anne Rice is writing a new book about Lestat. I am hesitantly excited about that. c:
