In the intro, King says he tried to rewrite the story so that it could take place at any time - and not have it stuck in the early 70s when he wrote it. But, there is no way he could have bought the amount of stuff at the baby store that he did with the amount he stole from the convenience store!

Not a complaint, just an observation!

Kandice | 944 comments Not to mention that most of King's, or almost any, stories written in the 70's-late 80's would really work in today's instantly connected age.

Randi Fremuth | 7 comments As a mother of two very young kids, I frequently find myself thinking that all Blaze needed was a Mom to love him, and it makes me sad.

Kandice | 944 comments He also need to NOT have that particular father! King often wrote about awful fathers. Sad...

I know that King was very close to his mother - I cannot remember much about his father . . . maybe that has something to do with this frequent theme.

Randi Fremuth | 7 comments It kills me to know that there are people who actually treat kids the way Blaze's father treated him. I do not understand how people can harm their own flesh and blood.

As a father of two - I agree! I just cannot imagine - but you hear about it all the time. Sad!

Kandice | 944 comments His father left when he was two and the fact that he never resurfaced, even after King's fame, makes me think he must have died.

Exactly!.......I have a daughter and how do you do that to children? That part with his dad just made me so angry.
