My favorite is the Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien. I also like George MacDonald's work, and Lovecraft's writing.

I tend to study classic fairy tales from different cultures. I prize the works of Robert Bly and Joseph Campbell. I have learned a great deal from the ideas of Jung and von Franz.

I agree about LOTR.
