Haha I guess we're just going to start having random conversation in random parts of the group discussions.

Thank you, Lisa. And Jenny and Kandice.:) How sweet of you all!

How are you doing today?"
I am well, thank you! How are you?

I'm doing well! I'm about to jump into my long list of house chores yay!(Sarcasm) Hopefully I'll have a little time to read and watch a couple of shows before watching the Walking Dead tonight and getting some shut eye! Hope your day is going well!

There are quite a few people who watch where I work and Monday morning is always a rehash.

Yeah me and my hubby love to watch it. I recently got the first part of the comics but have yet to do more than glance through them. I have a co-worker that likes to watch it as well and that's usually the first thing we talk about Monday mornings haha. It's so fun to discuss your favorite shows with people!
Dustin, Thanks! And I hope so! My husband and I have been talking about it almost everyday! I'm so frustrated about it on so many levels though because 1. I definitely do NOT want said person to be gone. 2. If said person is dead then I am afraid they are going to drag it out to be this huge thing about the rest of the group finding out
3. If person does survive, it kind of goes against the, up until this point, realistic death scenarios you know? Like they've always been pretty realistic (mostly) about people dying or getting out of situations. This situation has no truly realistic way of escape. Even if there's some miraculous thing that comes along and moves the herd away from the character, there's no way, in reality, that that person would get away from that without a single bite or scratch.
Ok I'm sorry, no I've got myself worked up into a rant! We probably won't even find out tonight anyways. Glad to know I can jump on here to rant about TWD!

Welcome Alice! We're so glad to have you and we'd love to read your reviews! I adore reading reviews on here because I can almost always make a decision about getting a book based on the reviews here. You will literally see me at the bookstore checking GR on my phone every couple of minutes because I want to see if the book I've just picked up is worth reading or not. Can't wait to read your reviews!!

Hi Lisa, thanks for the welcome. I have GR on my phone as well and I always search up books when I'm in a bookstore. Thanks again :)

Yes ma'am! I hope you enjoy it here!

If anyone has read Misery it would be like Annie Wilkes complaint regarding Paul's first attempt to bring back Misery Chastain.

Welcome, Alice!

Thanks Dustin :)

Yep, you can count on me to discuss TWD anytime. I think it's great that you and your husband share an enjoyment of the show together. That goes for you and yours, too, Kandice.
No apologies necessary for your "rant." I appreciate your feedback, and I completely agree. My wife and I have been afraid for weeks that they're going to drag it out like you said, and with only two episodes left before the mid-season finale, it looks like they're doing just that. And yeah, as much I desperately want him to survive, realistically it isn't feasible. I just don't see how such a miraculous comeback would be possible. And it kills me to admit that, because I love him so much. I mean, he's been there since the very beginning. Worse yet, I fear for Maggie's state of mind if/when she finds out that it's true (if it is.) He's all she had left, besides the group..
I also want to add that I'm relatively new to the show. My wife started watching it a couple seasons ago, but I never could get into it. I thought it was all about killing walkers. When I gave it another chance, however, I found out that it's about so much more than that!
Hehe, I love that you brought Annie Wilkes into the discussion, Kandice! You're exactly right, too.
He's dead in the comics!?! Say it isn't so..

In the comics, Kirkman says in the very first issue, that this is Rick's story. He is the only character who will always survive, maybe not completely intact, but alive nonetheless. I guess the show could just be fulfilling that promise, but do so in a more believable and thorough way!

I think it would be cool to read the comics. Going to have to see if my local library carries them, or if I can get them from inter library loan. Though, I've got to get through the pile of books I already have first lol.
I agree Kandice! I was thinking about that Rick situation too! I'm like you build up this suspenseful 'Oh my gosh, how is ever going to make it?' scenario and then the writers say 'Oh that? pssh he's fine." I really have a love hate relationship with this show sometimes as for the comics, warn me before you say those spoilers! lol I would like to read them as well and, when stuff does correlate with the show, I don't want to see those spoilers haha.
Abigail, I can definitely see your point of view on things. I feel like some of the things these people do are just ridiculous but at the same time, in real life, people do ridiculously stupid things in time of stress. This show can be great and other times it can really miss the potential awesomeness it has to offer. For example, that scene Kandice and I are talking about. I feel like it's just lazy writing when they do stuff like that.
I don't know at the end of the day, it's just a show and another story and I shouldn't get so worked up about it. Oh well, some people yell at the TV because someone fumbled something in a meaningless football game and others, like me, yell at the TV because a fictional character did something stupid in a made up world. We all get worked up about something or other! But if we enjoy it then who cares!

Haha it's ok! I am bad at it! I'm used to just blabbing about stuff with my hubby because he keeps up with most of the stuff I do and then I start talking about it to others and I'll let stuff slip. I have to be so careful sometimes so that I don't ruin everything for people.

Yeah, I noticed that with Rick, too. He could get the motor home to start, there were walkers outside, soon to get it, then boom. Nothing. It probably was lazy writing.

Lisa, would be open to a thread dedicated to TWD? That would allow this thread to remain open for new members and welcoming them, and also give us TWD fans a great place to discuss it in full. What do you think?

I was one step ahead of you in thought but not in action! I was awake most of the night with my sick daughter and while I was laying awake I was thinking about how it would be beneficial to start a thread for this kind of stuff. I called it the 'Fan Club' (couldn't think of any better name haha) So head on over there for the continued TWD convo!

I just wanted to take a moment to say Welcome to any recent newcomers! I'm so glad you decided to join our little group and we're so happy to have you! Jump into the conversations so we can get to know you! Have a wonderful day!!

It is interesting what people review though, like webcomics and Korean dramas.
Sorry you are so discouraged Everson! I know that it is a bit disheartening to see so many people not on all the time but I also understand. People are busy and, as readers, I know most of us would probably rather spend our precious down time reading and not perusing book sites. It's kind of counter-intuitive when you have a book blog or a site like GR but I also understand it. I am a mom with a full time job and I know that, while I adore communicating with my fellow bookworms, if I have 30 minutes to sit quietly at the end of the day, I will spend that time reading instead of surfing the internet or this site. As the one in charge of this group though, I do try to reply to as much as I can and I get alerts for almost everything that's posted in our little group. Please feel free to post things anytime and I'm sure someone (even if it's just me) will be more than happy to have a discussion!
I agree with your sentiments Nicole! Reading is definitely my much needed escape from reality! Please feel free to share the link to your blog on the group whenever you feel like!
Same to you Sionna! And yes, it is so interesting to see the things people enjoy talking about! It's one of the reasons I started this group!
