I wanted to start a discussion about round, flat, dynamic and static characters in this book. Nevery is a round and dynamic character because even towards the beginning of the book Nevery is dynamic because he changes from not ever wanting a wizards apprentice to wanting one once he meets Connwear and actually has a wizards apprentice.

Conn is definitely a round and dynamic character. He is round because we know a lot about him, he is well described and he changes too. At first he is a poor thief who sometimes goes days without food and later on close to the beginning of the story he takes an opportunity to be a wizards apprentice. He is also dynamic because in the beginning he doesn't really care about his education but around the middle of the story he gets more and more interested in becoming a good student when he realizes how fast he learns.
When Brumbee is first introduced,he is a static character and doesn't even want Conn to join his school. Very soon after that he isn't very static anymore because he suddenly decides to help Connwear become a wizard by doing basically everything he can to help Conn find his Locus Magiculas.
Keeston starts out as a pretty flat character but dynamic. He is dynamic with his actions. When we first meet him he is the best student so he is paired up with the worst student, Conn. Keeston is a character who acts like he knows too much. He is full of himself. When Conn calls him names he easily gets annoyed and punches Conn in the face. He is dynamic because he starts out seeming almost harmless to anyone but soon lets his anger out and this shows a different side to him. Then after this he also helps Nevery. He goes from not liking Nevery and punching Conn, to helping Nevery.
