The Neverending Story! I wish I had thought of that! Loved the film as a child so I must put that on my to-read list. Not read Wool but the other half has - he seemed to enjoy it but it sounds quite odd! I think it could also fit in Dystopia.
The Shirer book on the Third Reich was one of our A Level texts - it's quite a tome but very comprehensive. Well worth persevering with even if you only finish it in 2017!
Wool really sounds odd, but I'm curious to know how it turns out as it got recommended to me.Yes, The Rise and Fall is a big book! I hope the size won't scare me too much when the time is coming to read it. I really want to, because I feel like I don't know enough of that topic as I should as a German.
Yes, Wool is a dystopia. But a very unusual one, in the telling and the world building. I wasn't fan of the pace, but the author is a wonderful world builder :)Your two choices for the anti-hero work well! Vicious was interesting, even if I'm not a big fan of it. Locke is definitely bigger and dense, but with interesting characters!
I'm astonished that people seem to know Wool, because I've never heard of it before and I didn't see anyone talking about it :)I've read A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab, but I can't understand all the hype surrounding it. As I heard that Vicious is way better, I'd like to know if that book of her is more for me. And Locke was recommended for me by a friend, I don't really know anything about it :D
I met Wool on an Amazon sale, or something like this. Sometimes, I fall on really interesting authors :)Schwab's books seem to be very hyped, I think it's because she writes (in my point of view) unusual stories. I'm not fond of her characterization, so I hope I'll enjoy the one in Shade, but I read it's not her strongest point in it. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the alternate worlds!
Great list! From these I read this year and LOVED The Martian, Jane Eyre and Gone Girl. Several others are also on my list, like The Lies of Locke Lamora and Frankenstein. I also love Game of Thrones, although technically it is set in a fantasy universe, one roughly corresponding to the Middle Ages. I read all of them a couple years ago and a huge fan, looking forward to discussing it!
Oh, and Wool was recommended to me also... :)

I'm looking forward to hear how you found A Darker Shade of Magic once you've read it :) The alternate worlds were really interesting.

The Martian, Gone Girl and Jane Eyre are three books I'm so excited to read!
I'm looking forward to discussing them too! :)
We had never heard of Wool either until it came up as a recommendation on Amazon because of my husband's other book buys. It must have been on special because my other half loves a bargain! Looks like Amazon's algorithms are working!
Frankenstein is one of my brand new favourite books - I read it this year, and it's amazing! I can't believe she was only 19 when she started it. Incredible.
I haven't read Wool yet, it's on my long TBR list. I've heard it's really great. I can't wait for your feedback!
So I already finished my first book, it's Breakfast at Tiffany's for week 37. I'd have liked to start with week one, but I don't have that book yet. But I'll read out of order mostly anyways.
I also read Breakfast at Tiffany's last week, what did you think of it? Have you watched the movie? This year, I'm also reading The Neverending Story, In Cold Blood, The Way of Kings, Go Set a Watchman, Aristotle and Dante, American Gods, Coraline, Frankenstein and 1984! We have very similar taste!

I loved it, I really like the characters and I find the character of Holly really interesting. What about you? Yes I've watched the movie many times, that was the reason I wanted to read the book as well. Have you seen it?
Awesome! Can't wait to talk about them :)
My results of January.I've read 3 books for the challenge, 1 side read, I finished reading 2 books from December and reread 1 book. Which makes a total of 7.
I'm currently reading Attachments for the challenge and as the Book of the Month-February, I've read more than half of it, but I won't be able to finish it today. That takes me 1 book behind on the challenge, but I'm going to catch up on it ;)

Summary of July I had a great reading month. I participated in the Biannual Bibliathon and the Booktubeathon so I got quiet a lot of reading done. But I've read more side reads than books for the challenge, so I'm still behind. Tbt I'm not that motivated to complete this challenge this year, because I have so many books I want to read more than the books on my challenge list and they aren't fitting into it anymore so I don't know if Im going to complete it this year. I'm not going to stress myself because of it, when I'm going to complete it then it's okay and when not then it's okay too.
