The book that I read was called the lowland. This was about two brothers named Udayan and Subhash. They live in a neighborhood called Calcutta which is in India. When they were young, they were very close and they did everything together. They were different from each other. Udayan was more of a rebel. He was the one who always broke the rules and he was the dear devil. Subhash was the opposite. He was good and did whatever to please his parents. They remained close up until about college. While they were in college, there was a lot of political powers. There was riots and a lot of protesting going on. Udyana fell into it. He was apart of an organization and he got into a lot of things. Subhash studied chemistry and he eventually he went to school in America. He lived in America and it was hard adjusting to life. Subhash and Udayan stayed in touch a little. While Subhash was in America he found out that his brother was killed. He came back to his home town to reconnect with his family. Udyana was married and he was about to have a baby. He had to get back to life and get along with his new family members. I thought that this was a good book. The reason why is because of some of the things that happened. The story was about a family. I could relate to it with the family part because I'm close with minds. In my family, my little sister is the one who always challenge my parents. Also, it was crazy to see that they grew apart. I think when you are not with someone often, you start to grow apart from them. Subbash didn't even get a chance to see his brother before he was killed. I know that hurt him to not see his brother before he died. I liked he went back home and helped with Udyana's daughter. I would do the same thing if one of my family members died. I would recommend this to people who like love stories. There was some romantic parts.
