Parselmouth
Parseltongue is the language of serpents and magical serpent-like creatures. Parselmouths are the people that speak this language, and they are few and far in between. This skill is very rare, and typically hereditary. Most parselmouths are descendants of Salazar Slytherin himself, one of the most notable speakers.


Animagus
An animagus is a wizard who can turn into an animal at will. This is a skill that is learned, and very few wizards take the time to master it. The wizard will only be able to turn into one animal, and this animal is often the same as their patronus. Each animagus bears a mark on their animal form that is similar to their human body. A wizard can stay in animagus form for a seemingly indefinite period of time, unaffected by the lifespan of the creature they morph into.


Metamorphmagus
Metamorphmagi are wizards that can change their appearance at will, and are extremely rare. Metamorphmagi are born with their skill, and it cannot be taught. The extent of their transformation can be small, such as a change in hair colour or bone structure, but can also cause them to look like someone else entirely, even someone of a different gender. Some skilled metamorphmagi can take on animal forms as well.


Werewolf
A werewolf is a human or wizard, whom, upon the rise of a full moon, morphs into a wolf-like creature. Werewolves often do not have any sense of their human selves while they are shifted. The exception to this comes when a werewolf takes Wolfsbane Potion, it will not stop the change, but it will allow the afflicted to keep their wits about them. In any case, a werewolf is able to remember all the things they did while in wolf form after they have shifted back. Lyncanthropy is not hereditary, but is caused by saliva and blood contact, most commonly a werewolf bite.


Veela
The veela are a race of semi-human, semi-magical humanoids similar to sirens in greek mythology. Their appearance and dance is magically seductive to all male beings. Veela have their own kind of magic that does not require a wand. When they are angry, they transform into a form similar to a harpy--with bird beaks, scaly wings, and the ability to shoot fire from their hands. Veela hair is a magical substance sometimes used as a wand core. It is said in old stories that if a Veela hair is plucked, the Veela will die or become disfigured. Veelas have cross-bred with wizards, and part-veela daughters will often inherit good looks and charm.
