Ramiel's Dorm
Though maybe a dove or something would be a more fitting pet for the angel of hope, the animal curled up beside her was not, in fact, a dove. Ramiel lay on her back happily cuddled under the covers, and her cat lay curled up and purring happily right by her hip. She should be in class right now, but had instead taken the day off. It was never easy for her to concentrate, but today she just couldn't take it and decided to give herself a break for once. She yawned and shifted slightly, pulling the blankets up higher. This was nice. She was warm and she could hear the rain hitting the window outside, and if she concentrated on that sound and the purring from her feline friend, she didn't quite have the desire to scratch out her eardrums to keep from hearing everyone else's pain. She took in a deep breath, letting it out slowly to keep herself concentrated and centered.
[[ KT! I'm sorry I haven't replied yet! Was about to last night but then I realised, in all my spaceheadedness the other day I forgot to ask how'd you'd like Est to appear at her dorm~omg sorry I was so spaced out the other day ^^" ~plan to reread their rp on the way home later too!]]
((No problem :) Maybe he found an out of the way place that he thought she might appreciate since he knows of her whole pain emotions thing? Or if he pissed someone off he doesn't want to hurt so he's running from them and she notices and pulls him in to save him?))
[[ Alright, lemme go reread first and then I'll reply ^^ sorry I keep taking so long, just recovering from being really sick ehhhh plus, about to eat but will reply within the next 24hrs (maybe less, depending on whether I can squash it in before I have to shift places) ]]
[[ Sure thing ^^ this is a flexible rp, since ya know rl is busy always :) ]]
The dorms were quiet, quieter than he had expected. However, this was good for the Angel of Hope, as he had already seen. But it was unusual. Standing in the hallway, his blue coat elegantly draping and encasing his body, he looked left and right, up and down the hall. Nothing and no one was around. As far as he was aware there was no need to enact vengeance on this floor, let alone this building, but this unusual silence disturbed him. Still he pursed his lips and allowed his dark brows to dip towards the centre and proceeded down the hall to Ramiel’s room where he knew she was well, he supposed, entertaining herself. What she did in her free time was her business, however, he considered a friend, of sorts, and after their last encounter, he wanted, in short, to check in on her. As he reached her room, a chill ran down his back, and he looked back down the hall again. When nothing but an empty hall met his eyes, he knocked on Remiel’s door.

As he reached her room, a chill ran down his back, and he looked back down the hall again. When nothing but an empty hall met his eyes, he knocked on Remiel’s door.
Usually when Ramiel got a visitor, it was from some poor upset person worried for themselves, a friend, or a family member. They just came for her abilities. But the person knocking didn't feel near frantic enough for that, so she wasn't too worried. Carefully she maneuvered out from under the covers and around the cat, pausing to glance in the mirror. She wasn't vain, but she didn't want to look like a complete hobo when she answered the door. A gray tank top and yoga pants weren't exactly classy, but they would work. Flipping her golden braid back behind her shoulder, she made her way over to the door. Yawning and half wincing she opened it, her teeth clicking together as she cut her yawn short when she saw who was there. "Well hey there. Must admit even I wouldn't have guessed it was you. Come in." She invited, stepping to the side to give him room to walk in. "What brings you here?"
The right corner of his mouth tipped up ever so slightly. Whether it was from relief at seeing her pain free, or amusement at her greeting, or from something else, it wasn’t clear to him yet. There was, however, a very faint smile on his lips. He walked in first before and took a look around at the cozy, homely room.
“This…” he began, his eyebrows lifting in surprise. “…looks like a very comfortable place.”
Turning back to her, he added briefly, “I was around, thought I might stop by, a fellow angel and all.” He paused. While it didn’t often bother him how others reacted when he fell into silence, it was very rare for him to want to say more than just a few words. After a faint hesitation, he said, “Is it normally this quiet in the dorms?”

"It is a very comfortable place." Ramiel agreed, smiling slightly as she sat back down on the bed. She pulled her legs up to sit crisscross in the mass of blankets and quilts and pillows, studying him. She didn't one hundred percent believe his whole 'just happened to be around' thing, but what was she to do? So she just accepted it, though she hoped to find out the truth. She was happy that he had come by though. No one hated Ramiel, but she had few people to count as actual friends. "Oh no. Usually its a mess and loud and angry and emotional, but for now everyone is at class. It was just... Yesterday was long and rough, and I could not handle another one. I decided I deserved a break." She explained, then jumped slightly as a thought struck her. "Oh! My apologies. Come sit." She smiled, sliding to one side of the bed and gesturing to the other side.
For a moment, Estienne thought she might call him out for his half lame excuse for being ‘around’, but she didn’t. It was mostly true. There had been a reason for him to come this way, but that was a reason that didn’t quite make sense during the day. But Estienne hadn’t been thinking about that, specially not when he had been in the hall. He had been distracted by the more than unusual quiet in the hallway.
“Oh yes, class, I knew that,” he said matter- of-factly. He had actually temporarily forgotten. Though it did explain the lack of students in the hall. “But…” He began, pausing and taking a seat when she offered, looking a little awkward on the whole in his blue coat, with his eyepatch, and his stiff, posture. “…the hall was just a little more…uneasy than usual…” He finished, trailing off and thoughtful. There had been rumours of course, but there had been little evidence relating to it, hence why he had come this way. Well, one of the reasons. Shaking his head slightly, he focussed on Ramiel, “everyone deserves a break every once in a while. Thank you for the space on your bed to sit…I’m not usually this absentminded, but actually, I should not be here. My role at the school is not of student, but as a TA, this is…inappropriate even if…this is just a conversation.”

"Who is going to know you're here? I'm not going to tell anyone if you're really that worried. And as long as you don't, the only people that will know are mind readers, and they'll know nothing happened." Ramiel pointed out logically, raising an eyebrow at him. "I mean, if you're that worried I'm not going to stop you from leaving." She shrugged, studying him. She moved farther onto the comfortable bed, shifting in her seat to get more comfortable. The angel pulled her knees up to her chest as she looked at him, completely void of any kind of resentment or anger. "Besides, I am not exactly the type of person you need to worry about being in the same bed with. You really think I'm going to try anything?" She laughed softly. Without a change in voice, she carried on talking. "I don't want to be alone though, if you can avoid it. Usually I do want to be alone, because of the emotional thing. But there was a girl yesterday..." She shuddered slightly and shook her head, wrapping her arms around her knees and hugging them closer to her chest. "I mean, I know it was my fault. I should have known that her specifically was losing hope so fast, but I'm always so overwhelmed by the emotions of everyone around me, I didn't notice a specific one, you know?" She continued, biting her lower lip. "I mean, I'm supposed to be able to help people with this, but I can't even do that." She frowned, resting her chin on her knees. "Normal I would wish to be alone but you are good company, and as long as I don't touch your sword I can ignore one person well enough. And I need some sort of a distraction."
“How very logical of you,” he praised her, but it wasn’t people he was worried about. Well, perhaps the officials of the school might think they could give him a hard time, but Est was rarely ever worried about that. It wasn’t the Queen of Heaven he worried about. She was too nice. The Queen of Hell and the Reaper Kings didn’t bother him either. It was Perry he was worried about, and this worry was coasted on his consciousness, a faint warning signal. If he did anything uncompromising, rather than getting angry at him, exploding like some mothers do, she would calmly gaze at him and say she was very disappointed in him wearing a faint smile. It wouldn’t be a sad smile either, it would be a short slight tilt downwards that expressed more anger and disapproval and embarrassment than sadness.
He hoped she wouldn’t hear of this. But then, Perry had a way with hearing things unexpected. Frowning slightly he listened to Ramiel speak, pushing aside his own worries. “I will stay, I doubt anyone will hear of it….” He leaned back a bit. “It’s not your fault…you can’t save everyone,” he said slowly, hoping he was treading correctly, it wasn’t every day he attempted to comfort someone. “What happened with the girl to make her…lose hope?” He asked softly.

"Thank you." Ramiel smiled in relief, looking over at him gratefully. Absently she twirled a piece of her hair around her finger, looking down into her lap. Then she looked at him once again, looking vaguely puzzled and worried. "You don't have to be here. If you don't want to stay I won't make you. If you don't want to be here I'd prefer you weren't. I'd prefer honest silence or indifference to false sincerity." She explained, looking at him worriedly. She sighed and paused to give him a moment. But although she was usually good at hiding her emotions, she was upset. And she rarely had a chance to talk to someone about it, and since she had the opportunity she was going to take it. "I should be able to save everyone though." She sighed, looking down at her hands. "It's my job, you know? I'm the Angel of Hope. That means it is my fault. I should have noticed." She frowned, biting her lower lip. She hated it, the whole pity party thing. But she still couldn't help but feel it was her fault. And what was one supposed to do about their emotions? There was nothing she could do to change how she felt, so she simply accepted it. "Her family went missing. And this girl, well, she was heartbroken of course. But she was convinced that they were still alive. She had that hope for a while. She did that herself. But I got so distracted by someone else that when she lost hope that they would be found. And so... She... She's dead."
"Well it's not that I don't want to be here. There are just well, ever had someone who might somewhat disapprove of what you do even if you didn't do anything wrong?" He asked. Then wondered if that expressed what he wanted to express clearly. It might have been better to say that what he was worried about, was his mother. But for many years now, and because they looked similar in age, despite being literally many thousands of years apart, not many knew the real relationship between them. He did take after his father in looks than Perry after all. "I'll stay," he said.
"That is very true," he replied. He couldn't comment about her fallen status, for the reason for it, was very different to others of similar status. He looked away from her, looking out the window, listening to what she said. He knew the feeling well, yet could not entirely empathise because he was Nathanial, Angel of Vengeance. Then he looked back over at her, and suddenly felt awkward. This was the moment he should perhaps do something? How did one comfort? "I'm so sorry that you feel this way, that that happened to this girl, but it's alright you know, you can't always help. We aren't as omniscient as others might like to think of us..." he said softly.

"I know we're not omniscient. I mean, logically I know it's not my fault. I didn't do anything to her personally. But emotionally... I just can't help but feel I should have done something. Anything really. But I didn't and that's why I'm upset. I don't like people being hurt, even without feeling that pain. I could have saved her from that hurt. But because I get so wrapped up in the pain I feel, I can't help people the way I want to. Even her." Ramiel looked down at her hands, taking in a breath as if to steady herself for what came next. "They found her family a week later. They're alive. She would have had to hold on for not even a week. That's easy for me to influence. But I didn't." She looked over at him, smiling slightly despite herself. "Me? People? I don't have anyone I'm close to. My family is gone and I don't have any close friends. I can't bear to be to close to people physically, and you kind of have to do that to talk. I tend to try and avoid people when possible, and that doesn't exactly add up to awesome friend making circumstances." She laughed softly, shaking her head. "So no. I'm not close enough to anyone to have anyone disapprove of me personally."
He listened to her carefully. Missing anything crucial would mean an incorrect response. But well, he wasn't very good at responding in general, his line of work made it difficult for him to care about others. Especially when it came to exacting the appropriate vengeance. "Then you're lucky. In a way, I guess you are luckier than I." He looked away from her, staring into some distant point in life, thinking of memories that numbed his brain with the serum of nostalgia and slight regret. "I feel sometimes I should not have accepted the mantle of Vengeance. If I chosen to be a normal angel, to separate myself from the Archangels, I might have been different. But you too, are also unlucky," he said softly, thinking of Perry. They were son and mother, and they had a relationship that bonded them together, but there would probably always be that divide between them, that pressure that existed not just because he was an Archangel.
Refocussing and looking back at Ramiel, he expression having barely reacted at all, used to being emotionless, said, "It might be logical, but feelings can't be separated I suppose. For you, you feel so much more easily, it must be such a heavy burden. You can't do anything now, but you can always make the difference next time. And this time, maybe this was supposed to have happened. It is a tragedy that this happened to her..." he ended softer than he had expected. "Does this happen to you every time? All the time?"

"I never had a choice, you know?" Ramiel sighed, looking down at her hands. "I mean, I guess I would have taken it anyway. I like helping people. And I wouldn't want anyone else to be subjected to it." She shrugged logically, attempting a brave smile. "I don't like believing in 'supposed' to have happened. That also means that maybe it wasn't supposed to happen. And maybe she should have lived a long, happy life. And maybe she would have, if I had noticed her. It does happen almost every time. I can feel the pain of someone dying, of course I'm going to notice and worry that I could have done something." She smiled."I think it was a brave decision for you to accept it." She said softly, looking over at him. "Going into it you had to know it wouldn't be easy. But you still took it. I think that it was very selfless of you to do it." She smiled up at him, lightly touching his shoulder to make sure she had is attention. "Obviously it was up to you. You made the decision to take it fully aware of the consequences. Maybe you would have been different. But I'm glad you're not. I like you the way you are. Besides, if you were different, maybe you wouldn't have met me. And I like you're company, and I appreciate you being here."
[[ Lol~~ <3 -- I may not reply for a couple of days, sorry! I just have a few too many early starts this week and can't concentrate long enough to reply. ]]
"You're too nice," he said. Looking at her, he considered her. Visually, she was the epitome of what an angel should look and seem like. Beautiful. Gentle. Kind. Flawless too, was an associated connotation. Whereas he, with his longish, a tad bit messy hair and his eyepatch, he didn't look like an angel. He looked like someone who belonged on a ship. If only his clothes were more pirate-like. But it wasn't like he hadn't heard that before.
"And you care. The fact that you want to help people...I suppose that makes you perfect for Hope. But well, what do I know? It is not as though I know how and why certain angels are offered their roles or not, Perry never deemed it necessary for me to know. You, as Hope, are technically higher than I."
He had accidently let slip his mother's name, but just talking about their roles and statuses as angels, just had him thinking about her more than he liked. He was also talking more than usual, even though his voice was mostly flat, barely wavering upwards in tone or downwards to emphasise his interest, it didn't seem like he was bored either. Just, perhaps, a little too serious, just like he always was.
"Selfless?" He scoffed. "Maybe that's one way of putting it. If only I knew why it was offered to me."
There were many reasons why he had been offered this position. And there were the reasons that many of the other angels believed. For as long as anyone knew Estienne, they knew he wasn't very nice. He was brutal and rude when he wanted to be, but only because he didn't like tossing words about. When he acted, it was swift and brutal grace. The only saving grace that prevented him from falling, was that he never acted without the purest of intentions. But some knew his lineage, and called his offer a gift of favourites. All Perry had said when she told him he had been summoned, was that he wasn't a lost cause after all.

((AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH I'm so sorry! ASDFGHJKL! I had this up with other tabs and forgot to go back and do it))"You help people too, you know." She promised, looking over at him with a smile. "When I can't help people anymore, then they turn to you. We end up working close in timing on people, but never quite at the same time." She explained, biting her lip softly as she looked over at him. "Hope is important, but when they no longer have it... Then they usually turn to Vengeance. And maybe after you they come back to be."
"I wasn't offered mine, the way you were." She sighed slightly, looking back down at her hands and the cat that walked across and sat between the two angels patiently, waiting for attention. She scratched behind the feline's ears, "When I was little, I didn't have this emotional part. I just had the Hope part, and it was really nice. My parents were warriors too, and when I'd visit them when they were sparring and stuff we figured out that the other warriors I talked to were more hopeful, you know? So I always visited the warriors and it was nice to help people. But after a while the rest of it developed and visiting them started to hurt." She explained, closing her eyes.
She was so lost in her thoughts for the moment she didn't seem to realize she was leaning against him, her shoulder resting just below his with her much shorter height. She was used to when she touched people getting their emotions and hurt, but with her own shirt and his coat between them, she wasn't getting anything so she didn't think about it. Then she blinked and shook her head sharply, reminding herself that dwelling in the past that far back was ridiculous. And then she realized what she was doing. Instantly she blushed furiously, moving her shoulder away from his as she remembered that he was not good at the touchy feely thing. Now feeling awkward and guilty she looked at him for an instant before looking away. "Sorry. I'm just not used to having someone else around to worry about. I know you don't really like touch much...." She sighed, shifting uncomfortably. "If you want, you can leave."
"Maybe," said Estienne softly. He contemplated what she said. It made sense and it was in fact how it worked. Although he had always known it, hearing it come from her mouth, reaffirmed something. Or rather, was that make him more aware of what he might be lacking? That firm resolve to keep his title? He had never thought about giving it up, nor had he thought about giving it back. He had always just owned it, and dealt his vengeance the way deemed fit by those whose hearts had been shredded to pieces, bruised black and blue but the stresses of life that were by no means their own fault.
"Is that right?" He murmured. He tried to imagine a young Ramiel, but it was difficult. Partly because Estienne had spent most of life surrounded by angels who mostly, did not grow into their mantle, but rather, had died and been granted another saintly chance. Or well, mostly. Mami aka Azrael had been born angel, but she was so very much older than him, that he didn't even want to imagine what she was like as a child. "So it was kind of natural for you, ey? Being hopeful?"
He stiffened a little when she leaned against him, but didn't make any effort or move to push her away. Not used to being touched by women, generally preferring to not have contact with anyone else at all, simply because he would get an urge to read the tarot. There was something about physical contact that fuelled his role as Vengeance. But...there was one person whom he didn't mind being touched by. Selene. Her touch was calming, and she was all round kind to everyone, the very embodiment of what an angel should be in soul, her touch did not send him reaching for his tarot. Whether it was skin to skin or touch with a barrier of clothing or something, Estienne did not mind Selene's touch. And yet. For some reason, he didn't dislike Ramiel's touch either. And was only slightly disappointed, if but a little relieved, when she pulled away.
Raising his eyebrow, he looked at blush mostly blankly, as if unaffected, and just bowed his head slightly. "It's alright...I didn't really mind..." he said quietly. Looking at the door, he brows drew together slightly. "Would you prefer I go?"

I'm sure it made you uncomfortable, and though I didn't mean to, I wouldn't blame you if that made you want to leave." She explained as she looked over at him. Though she didn't say anything about it she looked worried and anxious as she studied him. She didn't want him to leave her, but what was the point in him staying if he didn't want to?((I'm sorry it's so short I just wanted one up after it took so long D:))
[ Lol no worries!! I've been really bushed lately so I'm taking forever with replying to some rps! Specially the longer ones! ]
He was kind of touched when she said that, taking stock of the fact that he didn't like to be touched normally. "Um...no. It's fine," he murmured. "It was alright." He was half standing, half sitting, not sure whether to go. Her reaction was somewhat mixed, and as a man used to dealing out black and white answers to people's prayers, even if the result was achieved slightly different to the vengeance envisioned, Est didn't know if he should stay or not. She had said no, and then it didn't like she wanted him to go. "I wasn't that uncomfortable, and I know you did it...subconsciously." Once he said that though, he realised he felt like he was a broken record, constantly repeating. Nice one Est, he told himself. "I can stay, if you want me to." And he would if she said it.

"It's just... Touching people is hard for me, but unfortunately, I'm kind of a touchy feely type of person. I help people, and I like to be close to them, but it's just hard. I don't usually get to... relax this much around a person." Ramiel explained, looking over at him as she spoke. "If you want to leave I won't stop you. But I would like you to keep me company and stay, if that is alright." She explained, though she looked determinedly down at her cat, not looking at him. She knew she was the type that'd give those big, puppy dog eyes, and she didn't want to guilt him into it. She sighed slightly, instantly assuming that he'd just leave her. Most people would, she knew. He had a life (right?) that he probably had to get back to, and she'd only talked to him once before now. And of course she'd had to have shown him what she felt, which she made the probably wise assumption he did not want again.
[[ Haven't forgotten ^^ just busy -- but whoooaaa I didn't realise a week had passed and SWEET finally the text in the message box is back to a better size since GR redecorated ]]
"I see, " he said softly. Though it didn't change his opinion of her to anything less knowing this little bit more about her. Touching was difficult for her, he had that...impression. KNowing that she was also a touchy feely person was, well, he wasn't sure how to respond to that. Mami was touchy feely, flirted and a pain in the ass, but she was his friend. Selene on the other hand was very reserved, despite her history. And then Perry was never overly touchy, though she did kiss his forehead every so often, and gave him a pat on his shoulder. How he felt around people, well he wasn't really around them much to know, keeping to himself except for a few of his select companions. With Ramiel, he had come as a friend even though he didn't know where he was with her, or what he should do, or if he should do anything at all.
So for a moment he considered her, at first thrown off balance by her reply, but then centred once more. If he wanted to leave, he could. But she wanted him to stay. Sighing softly, as if reluctant, but not really, since other than dealing with the latest mystery on his hands, he could stay a bit. "Alright. I will stay, since you would like me to," he said finally.

Sighing softly, as if reluctant, but not really, since other than dealing with the latest mystery on his hands, he could stay a bit. "Alright. I will stay, since you would like me to," he said finally.
Ramiel sighed as she looked over at him. She had told him time and time again that if he didn't want to stay he shouldn't. She didn't want to force him to stay, but she'd said that before. So at this point she'd kind of given up telling him that he shouldn't stay if he didn't actually want to. "So what are you doing here? I doubt you were 'just around' and just abruptly decided to visit the angel you've only talked to once." She said dryly, raising an eyebrow as she looked over at him. When he'd first given his excuse she'd let it go, but without a better topic to address she let her curiosity get the better of her. ((No problem :P))
"Uh...." So she caught him. "You're right. And also wrong. Right because I was doing something before I came to visit you. Wrong, because even if we've only talked once, I felt internally compelled to see how you were doing." Internally compelled? What kind of phrasing was that? Not to mention, why of all things did he say that? Clearing his throat, he continued. "I was actually in the middle of investigating something. A mysterious event actually. While it isn't too serious, it is necessary to investigate it and since your dorm is within the vicinity, I decided to come visit you too," he said honestly, finding no reason to hide the truth of why he was here.
Internally compelled? What was that supposed to mean? Ramiel sighed slightly, studying him as she blinked in confusion. Then she said what she was thinking; "Internally compelled? What's that supposed to mean?" She questioned with a raised eyebrow, raising her gaze from the cat over to him. What, did someone hypnotize him to come visit her? What was he talking about? "What kind of mysterious incident are you looking into?" She asked him curiously, then brightened for a second. "Hey, maybe I could help you? I'm pretty good at people. I can assist." She offered, seeming almost hopeful.
"Truthfully?" Est replied. "I have no idea." He speculated on that phrase for a moment, considered the various meanings, but he was no closer to understanding exactly what he meant, or what he had quietly meant to say in the undercurrent of the phrase. Looking over at her, taking in her suggestion, he replied, "There are students disappearing. Two so far. The only traces left behind are a sticky black, tar-like substance." He reached into his jacket, and lifted out a small vial. Tilted sideways, the liquid inside would slowly creep towards the other end, prompted by gravity. He passed it to her. "But that's it. One of the students disappeared here in this dorm. The other, in one of the classrooms in the main building."
((AHHHHH IM SORRY SORRY SORRY! I had winter break! D:))"No idea..." Ramiel mused as she studied him, raising an eyebrow. What the hell was that supposed to mean? He didn't know what he meant when he said he was 'internally compelled' to see her. He sounded like one of those people in a cheesy romance novel. And they weren't any thing even close to together. As in, they'd talked once before now. "Is it going to kill me if I touch it?" She asked finally, studying it curiously. "Because unfortunately, in addition to the emotions thing, which still sucks, I can also tell an objects past by touching it. That can be mentally scarring too, I promise. But it might help in this case. I could find out what it is and if it's doing anything. And if it is, who's using it."
"I don't know. And I don't really wish to test it this way to find out. I used my katana to scoop some into the vial. Not, of course, the most effective method," he said, turning the vial in his hand. "But the glass is safe enough to touch." He thought about what she said for a moment. "It might not be any good to try here, but perhaps the room I found it? There aren't any other traces of this substance but this here. The rest was cleaned up." He didn't really like the idea of her touching objects that might have come in contact or resulted in the disappearance of the students. "My first guess is that it's to do with demons. But this is neutral ground, and anyone part of the campus upon enrolment signed a neutral agreement form." Which meant it could still be a demon, but an outsider? But this...this tar-like substance didn't seem like the normal remains that demons left behind after doing their deeds. Most didn't leave anything at all, depending on their type.
"I'm an archangel, whatever it is, it won't kill me." Ramiel shrugged, studying the vial curiously. "It might be unpleasant, it might hurt, but I also might be able to help people. And helping people is all I ever wanted to do." Her blue gaze rose to study him, unblinking. "People can lie. They do it all the time, they lie and cheat to get what they want. And in this case, it looks like what he or she wants is to hurt people." She sighed, shaking her head. Sure she could feel people's feelings and emotions, but she never understood the desire to hurt people. ((Sorry it once again took forever, working on my group :3 Also I have no idea of the plot going with the tar thing so if she does touch it just lmk how it's used to I can actually RP what she'd see/feel with it :P))
[[ Okay, gonna take a long time to reply from here on out, since rl has just gotten crazy! But dw, I will always reply :) ]]
Hmm, she was. On the rank of archangels, Ramiel ranked higher than him even though she was fallen. She was a fallen of the seven, whereas he was just an archangel of the ordinary rank. "You're not wrong about that," he said. Standing up, he looked at her. "Let's be safe, and head to where I found the substance. If you're really willing, I wouldn't mind borrowing your abilities." He held out his hand to her, though he faltered for a moment, wondering if she would mind the contact. Then he wondered, why on earth was he offering his hand in such an old fashioned manner.
[[Sorryyyyyy so short >.< ]]

Ramiel smiled faintly, nodding. "Of course I'm willing. It'll help people, won't it?" She pointed out. "It'll be nice to actually be able to help someone with what I can do instead of just intruding on their thoughts and everything." The angel explained, tilting her head slightly to regard him as he stood. Her gaze dropped to his hand and suddenly she looked puzzled, blinking in confusion. People who knew of her abilities rarely wanted contact with her, in fact most went out of their way to avoid it. And as she understood it, he didn't like touch anyway. But still, she carefully reached out and grasped his hand, flinching at the sudden onrush of images. But she closed her eyes and did her best to ignore it until it was over, her grip on his hand only tightening before she finally stood, looking over at him.
[[[ AHHHHHHH OMG I'M SO SORRY I FORGOT TO REPLY TO THIS. Been so busy >.< ]]
He found himself smiling lightly at her words. "Yes, Ramiel. This will help someone." It would help a lot of people, and perhaps even the whole school. It was something he had to tamp down and contain before it got worse.
The smile that had appeared, faded a moment later as he watched her looking puzzled at his hand.
When she took his hand, he let out a breath he hadn't realised he had been holding. Helping her up, he asked her, "Are you okay?" His voice escaped his lips with more gruffness than he expected. He cared, but he wasn't really used to showing such care.
Then he remembered. He was asking her help - the same abilities that were both a blessing and a curse.
Letting go of her a hand, he murmured, "My apologies, I forgot it might be a little overwhelming..." He didn't want to think of what she might have seen or felt. Right now, he wasn't feeling much now in terms of vengeance, but his history was definitely checkered with it. There were enough moments in memory where Est had drawn his katana and skewered it through the target. Sometimes he sliced. But always, he wore an emotionless expression.
"Come on...let's um...go..." he said, reaching for the doorknob and pulling it open.

((No problem, it's ok :3))"I want to help people." Ramiel repeated with a warm smile. "I don't have any problems doing this, if that's what you're worried about. Whatever happens I'll have felt worse." She promised him, resting her hand on his shoulder for a moment before letting it slide off.
But she took his hand yet again, squeezing it gently. "It's okay, I'm okay, don't worry." She promised him with a faint smile. "You offered physical contact, it was my choice to initiate it." She looked up at him, tilting her head. It was odd, because he looked almost concerned, but then he sounded a bit rougher so maybe he wasn't? Damn, she wasn't good at just guessing. But she felt his emotions through the touch and quickly figured out that he was actually worried, and then she was touched.
"Thank you." She said sincerely, staring up at him. "I know you're not used to stopping to consider other people, and I appreciate the fact that you're stopping to here." The Angel smiled up at him slowly, stretching up to kiss him lightly on the cheek before walking past him and into the hallway. "Alright. Let's go then."
[[ I am so sorrrryyyyy for the late reply - busy >-
He blinked in surprise at the kiss and had to resist reaching up and touching the place she had kissed. It kind of tingled, and it plucked at a ravelled part inside of him - the part tucked away because of what he was, because of what he had to do every day. It wasn't until this moment did he realise it might be dangerous to be around Ramiel. She made him care more than he should.
Stepping out after her, he pulled her door shut. "Thank you for doing this. I really appreciate it." He did. He really did. This was something he wouldn't be able to solve on his own. All he had were traces of some substances and missing people. Someone with Ramiel's abilities was perfect. But he didn't want to put too much pressure on her. Even though she had reassured him, Est still his misgivings. Anything could happen. And whatever did, he had to be sure it wouldn't put a fellow divine being in a worse position than when she started. That could cause serious red tape issues with the Lady upstairs.
"This way," he said, leading her down the hall to the stairs, then down them. "She was living on the second floor. Alone."
He found the room, and with the key he had retrieved from the Dorm Head earlier, he unlocked it, pushing it open to reveal a small homely space, not as comfortable as Ramiel's room, but nice. "I don't think you know the girl who lived her. She's just started. But...this was where she was sleeping..."
[[ Sorrryyyy again for the late reply! Haha I'm just a bit unpredictably busy ^^" ]]

((No problem! :) and I don't want to mess up whatever idea you have for the plot, so what is it so I can have Ramiel know with the touch thing? XD))
[[ Oh haha my plot is in the making as I write it down lol. I suppose I was going for a demon. Definitely with negative intentions. The girl is probably alive. But the ones missing though are angels, demons and hybrids. All kinds. Will that help? You can add any details if you like :P since I'm building as I go. A mystery is so much more thrilling if I have no idea how it'll unravel haha ]]
