Folks, you know I've been playing with the graphics of Edwin Gorey for the theme of our group. Really dig his stuff.

Now, I have no idea why, but some of Gorey's artwork depicts violence done to children. Question: is this offensive to anyone? I won't post these drawings up on our pages, if so. Some of them are mild, sure-- but one of them features a bloody axe. Pretty raw.

Should I just take it as a 'given' (with this many group members) that it is objectionable?

Y'know, I'm pleased with myself for even pausing to consider this. Usually I just blunder right ahead with my own instinct. :D

David Simmons | 4 comments I scanned many of Grey's works through Google Images and didn't spot anything offensive. It does looks as though the "A is for Amy" series is challenging. You might post an example of (or a link to) one that concerns you.

Keep up the good work!

Examples are found in our group photo gallery if anyone wants to explore what I'm talking about. That's where I upload images for our use.

Thx David. Cheers

David Simmons | 4 comments Thanks for the directions. Now, I see what you are referring to and understand your query. I cast one vote for non-offensive. (Sorry about the auto-corrected "Grey" faux pas.)

Sally | 1 comments I love Gorey. I've never noticed anything offensive to a person who likes murder mysteries.
