Landon Roussel (landonroussel) | 7 comments Hello, I am about to publish my book 'On the Primitive Way,' (OnthePrimitiveWay.com) chronicling my pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela that I took with my brother just before he died. Writing the book has been a tremendous healing process for me to make sense not only of his death but also of his life.

I'm curious to know if anyone has stories (either books, blog posts, or just wants to recount on the discussion) of finding healing through grieving.

Grateful for any response.

They lose themselves in coping mechanisms--grandiosity, magical thinking, compulsive reading, computer games, etc. These coping skills eventually turn against them.

"Sail Away on My Silver Dream" is the story of a pair of fifth graders. David's mother has cancer; Sharon's father is an alcoholic. The two children find solace in voyages on their imaginary sailboat, the Silver Dream. The reader will find pathos and humor and hope aboard the Silver Dream.
