Does anyone know the actual date that the ALA awards will be announced (specifically the Newbery)? I can't seem to find it and the Newbery site just says "sometime in January."

The announcement is always made on the Monday of American Library Associatipn midwinter conference. The webcast can usually be found by looking for the Youth media awards. This year it is actually on Monday jan 11 at 8:00 in Boston. There is usually a link to the live webcast at 2016.alamidwinter.org/awards

I am sad. Last year, my class watched the ceremony live. It was a wonderful experience. This year the awards are presented in Boston which means it will be aired before my kids even get to school (time-zone difference). Does anyone know if I will be able to stream the ceremony an hour later? Otherwise maybe I need some technical help to get it taped in my classroom so I can re-run it...

You can absolute replay it later on in the day.
Awesome. Thank you! I've been encouraging my students to read as many potential winners as they can by telling them how cool it is to see the winner announced and having already read that book. I would hate to not be able to show it!
