Val had been walking around the woods enjoying the many different types of flowers that grew here. There was far more of a variety than there had been in her small town in France. She was crouching down admiring a flower that she added to her very beautiful and intricate flower crown that she had been working on all morning since she had always made them at home for herself since it made her feel like a princess. She had always loved the idea of being Royal, but with her being so weak that she falls in a coma every time blood is drawn makes her too weak. She sighed thinking to herself, if only there was someone way to break this wretched curse. Maybe I could finally not be so fragile. She placed the crown on her head gently making sure not to cut herself before heading towards the stream singing softly like she often did for her father, "Rusted brandy in a diamond glass, everything is made from dreams. Time is made from honey slow and sweet. Only the fools know what it means."
Jordan was already at the pond scribbling down notes in his journal, he noticed someone enter the clearing but didn't react and just ignored them, he already wrote about most of the flowers he had saw drawing sketches of them for fun but now he had to focus on how to break his curse...why did he have to do that again? He thought to himself as he looked back through his notes, still damning his worthless memory, looking back through his notes trying to find where he put what would happen if he didn't break it he smiled slightly at the song she sang, one of the only reactions you could get out of him, but decided to leave it and not write it down as he had more important things to write about
Valentine eyes locked onto a boy who seemed in a trance like state writing away in his notebook. She suddenly stopped singing embarrassed for someone hearing her. She made her way over to him quietly wondering if her hadn't noticed her or was simply ignoring the fact she was there. Her curiousity if what he was doing got the better of her. She tippy toed over to him until she was behind him looking over his shoulder at his book that he was flipping through revealing many picture and a lot of notes. Suddenly her passion for flowers and pointed at one of the flowers he had drawn beautifully, "Ah that has a bunch of pink flowers that is tall is called a Snapdragon and the one on the other page next to it that has a bunch of tiny white flowers is called Queen Anne's Lace." She moved to sit next to him smiling shyly, "Sorry I just love to talk about flowers and plants. It's kinda my thing."
Jordan looked at her, a flicker of annoyance in his eyes, he disliked talking to people at the best of times and talking about flowers seemed rather pointless, he sighed and looked at her eyes, his blue and brown eyes starkly contrasting each other, and pointing next to them showing him writing about them already, then he went back to ignoring her and looking back through the journal, looking for the first day on the island and about what they said would happen if he....Ahhh he hated his memory, even his outward appearance changed as he hit himself, muttering to himself "Idiot" He muttered
Her lips shut when he gave her an annoyed looked. She whispered softly, "Sorry." Val didn't mean to interrupt his thoughts and read where he had written the names of the flowers down. She felt dumb because she had just seemed to bother him and not help at all. She didn't know what to say as she shifted uneasily. She hadn't made any friends here since she came and the first person she had tried to make friends with was seemed to have a dislike for her. She began to draw patterns in the dirt not knowing what to do. She looked over at him when he smacked his forehead calling himself an idiot. Valentine asked softly, "Um, do you help or something?"
He looked at her, the annoyance gone, and sighed, it might be good to ask what he have been trying to remember, he didn't dislike her, he just well didn't talk to anyone, he shrugged to himself and looked back at her "Umm can I ask, can't remember, what will happen if we don't break the curse?" He asked, he hated asking people for help he always felt that it was embarrassing, the fact he can barley remember his own name, let alone anything else, even his journal doesn't do everything
She smiled at him glad he was actually talking to her. Her smile faltered at his question not wanting to think of the horrible possibility that could happen to her if she didn't break the curse. Her gaze moved back to the dirt, as her mood began to darken, "We die if the curse isn't broken before we turn 21." Moving a piece of hair behind her ear feeling sad. SHe still didn't have a clue how to break her curse and it really seemed hopeless at the moment that she was going to live past 21 now. Val tried to not cry not wanting to be seen as a cry baby.
Jordan nodded with a slight smile "Yes, thank you for that" He said quickly writing it down in a place he could find much easier, he had a couple of years yet to work this out so he was confident that he could do it, he looked at her, seeing her sad, he looked at her thoughtfully "Why are you sad" He muttered, he felt like he needed to thank her more
