Ruby's walking stick made a series of irritating clatters as it metronomed its way from side to side on the ground of the courtyard. Although she paused and faltered on the rare occasion, she didn't once trip or stumble. She had come to the courtyard to converse with the birds that found their way there. They knew things, and weren't hesitant in chirping out the secrets of the people they eavesdropped on. Not that Ruby was one for gossip, but when you were too much of a weirdo to fit in on an island of weirdos, one tends to get a little lonely. She sat on the edge of the fountain, waiting for the creatures of the air and trees to recognize her and come to chat.

I apologize immensely, but it appears that I can't continue roleplaying in this group due to the Christmas shopping making my life hell, what with work picking up. I'm sad to say I will have to leave this group.

So, so sorry!

There was a sense of wonder when it came to nature; A sheer beauty in the growth of so much from so little. At least, that's how Suko saw it. Leaning against a hedge, he reached out to a flower, frowning as the petals folded inward. They always shied from his icy skin. Yet he still enjoyed them, often imagining what it felt like to feel the sun's warmth. Even though the light touched him, he felt nothing but an inner cold; The only thing he knew. Stepping back, he tugged down his hoodies sleeves, briefly pondering to himself why he insisted on wearing it. So others don't feel cold too. He decided, walking over to inspect the fountain. "Is the water warm?" He thought out-loud, tempted to dip his hand in, yet aware it wouldn't make a difference.

Arcadia had hidden her wings once again. Although she should be comfortable with them, she couldn't help but still be a bit shy about sharing her secret with others. She had been hiding it for so long, it was hard not to hide it anymore. She loved to dance though. It was almost in her blood. She was in her usual get up, when she wasn't in her tutu. She wore an academy uniform it was a grey dress with blue trimming and black heels. She wore a red pendant as well. Her wings were lightly bund against he back, she had kept with this routine since she was very little. The only time she ever lets them down is when she dances. Arcadia had decided to let loose though and was half dancing. She wasn't paying attention to where she was going and knocked into someone, sending them both tumbling into the fountain.

Suko hadn't noticed anyone else in the courtyard, as he often overlooked things when lost in thought. He tumbled head-first into the water, banging his head onto the bottom. This dazed him briefly before he wiggled out from the figure on top him and shot up for air. Grasping the side of the fountain, he coughed and gasped. The throb in his head promised a bruise - A frequent occurrence. He could reach the bottom but the slight slope made balancing hard. Recalling the bump, he turned to search for the source. Upon locating the girl, he reached out to help pull her to the side. "Are you okay?" His eyes were widened innocently.

so sorry thought I had already replied

Arcadia hit the water and gasped as the waters chilled her. She coughed before someone had grabbed her, the guy she ran into. She opened her eyes slowly and was met by an innocent gaze, then she noticed the forming bruise. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry." She apologized, before he asked if she was ok. "Oh um...yeah I'm fine. Are you sure you're ok?" She asked in return. Arcadia had grown noticeably colder, though thought it was just the water, not realizing that it was this boy's touch. Her skin was paler than usual and goosebumps rose along her arms. "We should probably get out of the water before one of us gets sick." She commented moved to stand, though of course with her luck she slipped and fell back down. She might've been a ballerina, but whenever she wasn't dancing it was like she had two left feet.

Noticing the look she gave, Suko retracted his hand to prod his sore head, relieved to find no blood flow. He'd always hated the sight of crimson, but was accustom to bruises; They formed easily on his ivory skin, especially with his habit of wondering into trouble. "Accidents happen," He smiled but it faded as he observed her pale skin, wondering if it had been his cause. Absently, he yanked his sleeves over his hand, nearly slipping back into the water before again catching the side. He nodded his agreement, lips parted to warn her, only to wince as she fell. Again, he reached over to catch her arm and haul her to the side. "I'll help you balance so you can climb out." His brow raised, seeing the slight bulk of her backside, not quite making out the cause.

Arcadia felt someone, help her up again. She held onto his shirt, as he held her arm. "Thank you." She said gently and with his help, she managed to get out of the fountain without too much more issues. She gazed back at Suko and held out a hand for him. "I'm really sorry. I'm such a klutz when I'm not dancing." She admitted embarrassedly. She didn't realize that when she had fallen her wings had come unbound. She shifted and as if on cue her wings revealed themselves and immediately she grew scarlet red and fell to her knees out of pure horror. They had come unbound and her secret was revealed. Arcadia, didn't want people to know because she felt self-conscious of them. With flaming cheeks she gazed up at him.

Suko smiled kindly as he accepted her hand, keeping his sleeve down over his palm to avoid skin contact. It wasn't that he was embarrassed of his icy exterior but rather was afraid it might hurt you. She must have already been cold from the water and he didn't want to add to that. "Accidents happen." Bracing his other hand onto the side, he swung his leg outside the fountain and half-fell onto the ground. Sitting up, having released her hand, he quickly patted off the dirt clying to his soaked hoodie. Frowning slightly, he rolled up his jacket and shirt and rung out the water. His eyes flickered up when something appeared behind her. After starring a moment, he managed to utter a quiet, "Wow." He could sense her distress but resisted the urge to reach out to comfort her. "It must be amazing. Flying, I mean."

Arcadia was relieved as he managed to get out of the fountain without too many more issues. However, after revealing her secret to a complete stranger, she just wanted to go bury herself in a hole. Though his response to her secret wasn't what she was expecting. It made her almost relax. Her blush had only grown more prominent with his slight appraisal of it. "Amazing? You really think so?" She asked weakly and smiled ever so gently. Her flushed cheeks had turned to a bubble of warmth in her gut rather the dread that had plagued her before. "I honestly don't fly that much, the only time I ever come close to it is when I'm dancing and leap into the air, but that's not quite flying." she replied softly. "Do you really think they're cool?" She asked gently, nervousness now plagued her. If he really liked them that would change everything for her.

((Ribbit.))

Suko didn't understand her discomfort; After witnessing countless abilities and curses from others, it hadn't come as a surprise. Although, admittedly, he thought the appendages were beautiful, similar to drawings of angels. Smiling softly, he nodded. "They're amazing. I don't know why you would want to hide them. It makes you look almost like an angel. Just missing a halo." His voice became muffled as he pulled off his hoodie, quickly straightening his shirt afterwards. He proceeded to ring it out until he was unable to get anymore water from it. Then he slid it back on, hoping the sun would dry him out. Suppose that's what happened when I wonder about how the water feels. Expression fascinated, he leaned up and extended a hand towards one of her wings, but hesitated to touch it. "Would you mind?" His eyes were wide in curiosity, wanting to know how the feathers felt.

Arcadia just shook her head. "Last time I showed someone they called me a freak. I don't know I guess I was just scared, scared that I'd be stared at like an animal again." She replied weakly, though perked up once more. "Though I'm glad you like them, that just changes everything, and I'm no angel...I couldn't possibly be one.." Her voice trailed off and she thought about her curse, but didn't speak of it. As he reached out to touch one of her wings she gazed at him and nodded slowly. "Go ahead, I don't mind." She replied and stepped close to him, so he'd be able to feel them. "Mother use to say I had a gift from fairies, but in return received a curse from the devil, sometimes I wonder if that's true." She was now just saying what was on her mind. Her mother had died when she was young, but her grandmother would always repeat her mother's saying. "I'm Arcadia by the way, and you are?"

Suko faintly shook his head, oblivious to how any being could mistake her as such. How could such a lovely sight be referred to as a freak? "You're not a freak." He stated confidently, brows furrowed, "You might be different in their world. But here, you may be the normalist." When she gave him permission, his expression suddenly lit up. Tracing his fingers lightly over a few feathers, careful as not to hurt her, he sighed in delight. They weren't as soft as he imagined but still as amazing. Retracting his hand, he tilted his head in curiosity. "Setsuko. But I've always been called Suko." He stuck out his hand before quickly retracting it, folding both into his pockets. "It's... its better you not touch me. At least not direct skin contact- I wouldn't want you to be cold." He blushed a bit, realizing he was blabbering.

Arcadia smiled at him as he turned her thoughts to the dark. He made he happy. Happier than she had been in a long time. "That's good to know." She replied and waited for his touch. As he felt her wing, she was shocked by how cold his touch was, but her wings did well to keep her warm. As he retracted his hand she sighed softly and thought of his delicate touch, she liked it, despite how cold it really was. "Suko? Well it's charming to meet you. You can call me Cady if you so desire." She replied and offered him a hand right as he did. As he tucked them into his pockets, she tilted her head. Though his rambling made her smile, I think I can handle it. Though if you feel uncomfortable with it, I understand, it's just like me and binding my wings down." She replied smoothly and began to question whether or not she should really reveal her wings continuously.
