Clint is the contentious sort not one not one to accept orders or leadership easily. It's not easy to gain Clint's trust but once you have it you'll never lose it. He'll die for his friends or at least fight with everything he has to make sure they stay alive. He doesn't give up very easily preferring to fight tooth a nail for everything. He lives for adventure the thrill of fighting for his life, thrill of a battle. He would have a very hard time settling down to a normal life. He's bold, sneaky, decisive and very experienced. He almost always gets the job done. He is a master of improvisation and can quickly adapt to situations where he's overpowered. After the fight with Loki, Clint now has has terrible nightmares mostly of him hurting his teammates unwillingly. He had distanced himself from his teammates though he tried to act the same for everyone else's sakes. Thankfully Harper snapped him out of his funk and though he was never exactly the same person before the battle of New York he's more like his old self.

Clint was born in Waverly,Iowa on December 18. He had three brothers and they got along great- most of the time, except for the occasional scuffle every now and then but what do you expect they're siblings after all. When he was only four years old his parents and his oldest brother died in a car crash. He and his other brother Barney was sent to the orphanage for six years before they ran away to the Carson Carnival of Traveling Wonders. Clint was mentored by Swordsman, who taught Clint acrobatics, fencing, knife throwing and how to shoot a bow. He traveled with the circus for two years until he discovered that Swordsman was stealing money from all of them. He tried to confront him by himself but they ended up fighting and Clint was overpowered. He was then beaten very badly and left for dead. The other people from the carnival found him but they were not very happy. They accused Clint of letting the Swordsman get away including his own brother. He soon left the carnival and adopted the name Hawkeye and performed all over the country with various different carnivals and circuses. He first got the idea to be super hero from none other than Iron Man himself. He was performing at Coney Island and that's where he witnessed Iron Man in all his costumed glory. After he had broken ties with Carson's circus of traveling wonders, he had wanted to do something helpful with his skills but had never had the motivation until that moment. Unfortunately on his first night as a superhero there was a misunderstanding and Clint was accused of being a thief and a criminal. While he was running away from the authorities he met Scorpion a Soviet Union spy. He was very naïve at the time and fell in love with her practically instantly. He blindly followed her even though his head told him not to trust her. He helped her steal from many huge important corporations especially ones that specialized in weapons. On one of these occasions Scorpion was injured and Clint had to retreat to get her to safety but, before he could get her to the hospital she disappeared leaving him alone with the authorities on his tail. They had been given a tip from an anonymous caller on his whereabouts. Clint knew that Scorpion had tipped them off. She was the only one who knew where he would've gone after she disappeared on him. He felt completely betrayed for the second time in his life someone he trusted had turned their backs on him. Eventually the authorities caught him not that Clint put up much of a fight. He was sentenced to spend a good portion of his life in jail. That is until Shield made him an offer, he could spend most of his life in prison or he could join Shield until they decided he was ready to rejoin society. Clint of course agreed to join Shield. It was hard work but Clint loved every single second of it. One day on one of his missions he saw someone that he never expected to see Scorpion. She tried to make a deal with him pleading that she would never betray him again. Clint didn't buy it though "Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice well shame on me." With those last words and the sharp twang of a bowstring Scorpion was gone. At first Clint didn't feel guilty about killing Scorpion she has betrayed him so her killed her but, then he realized that he was now a cold blooded murderer. No better then the villains that Shield captured and put in prison. He was so angry at himself for stooping to their level. He stormed around Shield for a good three months before he got a mission that would change his life and maybe just maybe a chance for redemption. An assassin named Black Widow had popped up on Shield’s radar and they wanted Hawkeye to kill her. Clint had doubts about the mission from the beginning he didn't know if he could kill someone up close again after what had happened with Scorpion. When he found Black Widow he found that she was very much Scoprpion. So he gave her a choice join Shield or we'll die. Black Widow decided to come with him and he took her to Shield. The people at Shield were very, very at upset at him for not following orders but, Clint quickly explained why she would be a great asset to Shield and they surprisingly agreed with him. After several more years of working with Shield he was finally free. His criminal record was erased and he was made an officer in a division of Shield. One day what was thought to be an alien object landed in the middle of New Mexico. Fury told Clint to go down there to make sure that no one got in, well someone got in but Clint couldn't stop him. He was forced to let him go mostly because he was never given orders to shoot . Shortly after that he went back to Shield in New York. Only a couple days later a hacker managed to hack into Stark tower. Shield wanted Clint to recruit the hacker. He somehow managed to convince her to join Shield her name was Harper. She became an agent and they went on several missions together before Clint was sent to a secret research facility where they were experimenting on something called the tesseract. All was going well until the Asgardian God of Mischief also called Loki broke in. He and the other Shield agents were no match for the God. Then one of the most horrible experiences of Clint’s life happened Loki literally took over his mind. It was like someone was playing with his head, like they took who him out and stuffed something completely different in it and there was nothing he could do about it. When Loki was ‘captured’ Clint led an extraction group to break him loose. During this time Clint came to face to face with Harper and they fought. Clint used all of his willpower to disobey Loki. He wasn't able to stop fighting with her completely but he managed to not land any killing blows giving her the chance to land a blow to his head, which not only knocked him unconscious it managed to loosen Loki's hold on his mind. After he woke up he battled for several hours to take back complete control over his mind. Afterwards he convinced Harper to help him and the other Avengers defeat Loki. She was wary at first but soon agreed and together with the rest of the Avengers they managed to defeat Loki. Afterwards the Avengers went their separate ways. He and Harper returned to Shield. They went on several missions together like they had used to but something wasn't right with him. He couldn't get the image out of his head of him hurting Harper. He still went on missions with her and, taught her how to shoot a target with a gun, he still sparred with her but, he was different more closed off, afraid that something could make him hurt, that someone could break through the barriers of his mind and hurt her. He knew he had feelings for her if love was to strong of a word then he at least liked her, either way he had feelings for her and every day, every single day he remembered that night when Loki had taken over his head and he fought her. He knew he could've killed her, the only reason that he didn't was that he had exerted himself to the max to fight Loki's hold over him and even then he was barely able to hold back. What if someone more powerful came along and Clint couldn't hold back at all? What if he hurt all his friends it was something he couldn't afford so he distanced himself from everyone trying to act the same but everyone could tell that he had changed. Harper made him realize that he was hurting her by staying away and slowly but surely he healed. There are still times where he'll disappear for a few days but those times are far and few inbetween.
