Femke As you can tell, there are multiple changes in this group this month. One of them is this topic, instead of sending your suggestion directly to Ashleigh, you will put it/them here. So maybe you will discover new books to read or remind a book you wanted to read but you had forgotten.
It will be nice if you explain your suggestion and maybe if you give a short synopsis. So when our poll gets up, everyone who wants to vote, can check the books here.

Quick "rules" for giving your suggestion:
1. Please don't give thousands of suggestions. One or two suggestions is enough.
2. Appreciate the suggestion of someone else. If you don't like the book that is suggested by another member, you can say it in a polite way without offending her/him.
3. If there are to many suggestion for one month, for example 20 different books. We will choose the ones that are explained the best.

During the month, you can put your suggestion here or you can wait until we announce that you can leave them here for our next book discussion. But if you want to put your suggestion here before we announce it, please say for which month you would like to read it. So we can see if it are old suggestions or the new ones.

What do you want to read together in December and January?

Femke I would like to read Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. I got this book as a present for my birthday and many people say that it is really good. The story intrigues me although I don't play any games or something like that.

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

In the year 2044, our planet isn't as good as it is right know. Most people live in a realistic game called the OASIS. When the maker of the OASIS dies, he have left a puzzle within this game. The one who will solve his puzzles will take his place and receive his massive fortune.

message 9: by Femke (new)

Femke For the month of March and April, I want to read Across the universe. I haven't been able to read it.

I also want to read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, because I bought the beautiful box set of all the harry potter books. I have already read the first one in English and I have read the first six books in Dutch. But I still need to read the rest in English.

Has someone also read multiple Harry Potter books in different languages?

message 10: by Ashleigh (new)

Ashleigh | 68 comments I'm actually thinking of buying the harry potter books in german to help me learn

Femke That's really awesome! But you will have to keep in mind that the names of the characters, creatures and places change when you are reading harry potter in a different languages.
In Dutch Hogwarts is Zweinstein and Albus Dumbledore is Albus Perkamentus. These are a few examples, it isn't harder to read but it is quite funny to me.

Femke I was looking for the translations of Harry Potter in German, but I don't think that they have changed a lotbof thinks, just the thinks like the Forbidden Forest. Maybe the Dutch translators went completely crazy with it...

message 14: by Madeline (new)

Madeline Amonick | 1 comments I'm feeling the winter blues and think we should read some light contemporary. To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han, Attachments by Rainbow Rowell, and I've Got Your Number by Sofie Kinsella are a few I have had my eye on

Bella (Bookishbells) (bellset) | 8 comments I actually got a Harry Potter box set in English this Christmas, so far I've read the first two this year. But I'd be up for reading some HP in the coming months :)
