The Gravedigger's Daughter discussion

Wow -- Joyce is one of my favorite authors, so I really expected to like this book as well as her others. Sadly, I found it meandering and a bit convoluted. I was ambivalent about the heroine/protagonist, and there's a major red herring that just fully annoyed me. My advice is to read, or re-read, We Were the Mulvaneys or You Must Remember This instead.
