That is kind of complicated. There are many different theories about Hell. Most modern Christians/Jews/Possibly Muslims believe that it is fire. Most other religions believed that it is rocky and desolate, with the possible exception of the Ancient Greek Tartarus. Not much is said about it, although we know it is a place of eternal torment for evil people, same as the Christian Hell. The other places though, are a place for good people (similar to heaven), and a place for in-betweeners. The Ancient Vikings believed in something similar as well, the alternative to Valhalla. They believed that if you died in any way other than battle, you would spend eternity in a giant snake skeleton that drips poison on you, and the only drink you have would be goat's urine. These are mainly the types I can think of off the top of my head, though I'm sure there are others. I think the main point is, nobody really knows much except don't go there. :)

I think he'll isn't fire or ice. I think it's being forced to do things that you desperately hate. Or constant physical, emotional, or mental pain without the freedoms of insanity or death. Nikki always believed it was just having to repeat this life over and over going through every sort of pain misery or hardship only to stand judgement and watch as your life is played out in all of it's shameful glory only to be sentenced to do it over until you get it right
Well like some parts are ice and some parts are fire because hell is a place for eternal torture of the soul. So like how in The House of Hades they mentioned that river of fire. I think hell can have parts made of fire and parts made of ice

Therefore, according to Dante, Hell is BOTH fire and ice.
I KNEW THAT SOUNDED FAMILIAR!!!I was read that when I was younger and the idea kinda stuck with me. Thanks Amber
I think it is both so cold that it's hot and it is all flames and pain. That may have sounded like gibberish, but it makes sense to me.

You're welcome.

Makes sense to me, too. There was a scene in the cartoon version of THE LAST UNICORN where the manticore's skin is described as "so cold it BURNS!"
I tried to get a clip of that scene but I can't seem to find it. :(

I really don't think that we should be wondering about hell. It's a very touchy subject and is a big turn off and makes Christianity look bad. Jesus would want us to be more concerned about showing his love to others and not thinking about what hell's going to be like. We should be steering clear of anything to do with hell. Jesus doesn't want anyone to go to hell which is why he came to redeem everyone. So frankly only an idiot would want to go there and not to Heaven in the end.

The Bible says that Heaven will be paradise. There will be no more tears, sadness, sin, worry, death, mourning or negativity. No one will need to eat or drink anything anymore because God's glory will take care of everyone. Pretty amazing.

Well the 66 books of the Bible were penned by God's followers, but God gave them the words they needed. The Bible is inspired by God. Therefore, every part of the Bible is true because God inspired all of it. I can guarantee to you 100 percent that Heaven is possible. Lots of people have seen Heaven in their near death experiences.

I'll pray that you can see God's truth. Have a Blessed and great day

so basically you are saying that Christianity makes Christianity look bad.......
BlackStar103, Aaron and the author of GRAND THEFT JESUS have it right. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...And so do the authors of I'M FINE WITH GOD...IT'S CHRISTIANS I CAN'T STAND: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
