It's so random! I kinda like how this book doesn't take itself so seriously and they'd actually put something like that in it lol
Gah, I don't start work until Monday, so I will probably be reading it after we start May reads lol
I started this last night. I'm only about 50 pages in, but so far I'm liking it. It's a little strange, I haven't really read much paranormal lately. More dystopia and aliens.
you guys are killing me lately on thw pace!!! lol I'm about 40 pages to the end but it was very entertaining
I'm not sure about this one... I really liked Lend. Evie is great, though a little too whiny sometimes...and maybe a bit, don't know? Young?? If that makes sense? And though I liked the story it just didn't quite 'wow' me? That said, I'm still going to finish the series. I'm about a quarter of the way into the next one, and so far I'm still enjoying it.
Evie does seems a bit immature for her age, which is both weird and understandable. She doesn't have a lot of contact with people her own age so you can understand why she'd be a bit immature but at the same time she is this crime fighting super kid so you'd think she'd be a bit more serious lol I kinda liked that she still acted like a kid though.
After re-thinking.. i don't think its so much that she acts like a kid. I think its more the way the book is written. I like her innocence. I understand her immaturity. Its probably more that it seems that the book is aimed at a younger audience than what I'm used to? Dunno... =/
That makes sense. It definitely has a younger tone to it, but I think that the sarcasm and humor are what influence that which I didn't mind.
Its funny - I've gone back to this book... I think after a break I'm a tad more tolerant, though Evie's refusal to accept her lot in life is still irritating, the humour and other characters are still carrying me through (I love Jack!). I must say though, it almost lost me again with the inclusion of "true dat" in the dialog - What the?!?!? Thank god for Arianna!!
