I read most of the Arsene Lupin books, love the idea of a gentleman thief, although it's kind of weird when the author bashes SH because I'm a huge fan of him.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle made Leblanc change the name to Herlock Sholmes eventually, but it's still quite funny, watching our favourite detective fail at everything. Admittedly he's not very in character and Leblanc writes Arsene Lupin best.
