I wouldn't quite expect the movie to be like the book, if you've read it that is. The movie doesn't really put as much into the history as the book did. I saw the movie first and it made it harder for me at times to get through the book.
yea i loved Interview with a Vampire and i like Queen of the Damned... But I feel we Haven't got many good vampire movies in awhile.. but i do also love Underworld

What's that about?
What's that about?

well different people and story line in part 3... it's what started all the movies.. you how they always show what happened first after a few movies already been made.
Oh my I didn;t know "The Hamiltons" was about vamps! Is it really? And I watch this really weird/good vamp movie called "Let The Right One In". It was made in Germany I think but it is dubbed over here. Anyone hear of it? I really like The Lost Boys, Underworld, Queen of the Damned, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and Blade.
This isn't a movie, but I am absolutely hooked on the HBO series, True Blood! Any other fans out there of this show? Just started reading the Sookie series (I know, I'm a little behind).

But I was reading the books and just finished book 9 when I got HBO. So I saw all the season 2 episodes. Then I watched all the trailers from season one. So I am pretty well caught up. They have all season one DVD diss for $50. Cheap. So I will watch season one pretty soon. So yeah Wendy I'm a fan of TrueBlood, LOL.

The topic is Every ones favorite vamp. Not everyone is going to have the same favorite. Mine is Carmilla which is well known to you all. A girl on TrueBlood/Sookie Stackhouse group told me she had read Carmilla and it sucked. She really had not read it at all. I was much vindicated when in TrueBlood espisode Dont Let Me Go Bill and Sookie are staying at the Dallas Vampire "Hotel Carmilla". Thus showing Carmillas importance to the vampire world, and vampire litterature.
Dont bother just Google it up. It is free online. Skim over it first online to make sure you like it. It was written in 1875 and is one of the very earliest vampire stories. Some people like the modern stories better.
I just put together you are from the UK Leanne. As I said I have friends there. Read Carmilla its my absolute favorite Vampire story of all time. Also check out http://www.horrormasters.com/Themes/v... Then go to HBO TrueBlood fan site and watch the trailers. Or go to youtube.com and watch the clip called TrueBlood-AIDs-Burger which highlights Lafayette. Laffayette is entirely different in the TV show and way better than the books. Eric and Bill are pretty true to form just as they are in the book. But most characters are radically different, and there are characters you have never heard of. You will have so much fun with TrueBlood watching the clips on the fansite and youtube.com
Join Sookie Stackhouse book/show group. That group will get you up to speed on TrueBlood. Oh and your quite welcome.
It is probably the closest to the book adaptation of Dracula ever done. Great special effects and actors. Great director and imagry
Favorite vampire Movie? Salem's Lot, 30 Days of Night, Lost Boys, Blade, and Underworld...those are all my Favs...and actually other than Ankle Biters, I really don't think I've seen a vampire movie that I truly hate. Ankle Biters was absolutely the worst thing I have ever seen in my life!
Lost Boys, Braum Stokers Dracula,Blade,Underworld, From Dusk till Dawn(absolute best Tarentino film) Round about Dark, Fearless Vampire Hunters funny old Polanski Film. Just about anything with V will do.
Lost boys was great, as is the Tarantino film from Dust Till Dawn, Braum Stokers Dracula. I could not nail it down to just one.
u a vamp chick and never seen any of those? then what are your favorites?Stacy vamp chick wrote: "oh i never saw any of them"
well then thats much better.... but I try to get both sides in.. movies and books.. but tend to read the romance vamp booksStacy vamp chick wrote: "u see i dnt watch da movies i read the books"
Well thats outstanding that you only read vampire books. They are easily better than the best movies. However movies are a lot of fun too. Movies are taken from written Screen plays. But I gottah tell yah. The coolest are vampire plays with live actors. Like the NYC production of Dracula with Frank Longella staring as Dracula. There is something magical about real people playing the parts of vampires. Its just incredible. I saw the second NYC production of Dracula with Martin Landaua(Mission Impossible star from thie original hit TV series). He appeared at Minas window out of a cloud of dry ice. They had bat handlers up in the ceiling scaffold with marianette bats that really looked like they flew around the stage it was awsome. I had such a good time. Better than any movie ever. I also saw a production of Dracula done by the ASU Drama Deptarment at Ariz Starte Univ, in 1984. It was also spectacular. They had a young guy that looked rather like Tom Cruise and who was extremely talented. It had very limited speical effects. Other than sound effects, some stage props, and just excelllent actiing. This young man was really convincing as Dracula.I do believe live stage productions of vampire storys are the very best type of vampire presentation. Try to find a good stage production of Dracula or Carmilla in your area. See if I do not speak the truth.
I haven't seen that one yet. I have Direct TV and HBO so I am hoping it will come on soon. All the other vampire movies have but that one. :)
did any watch the YA The Vampire Diaries and what did you think of it.. i'm sure alot of you read the books before... i havent
I am sure I will be watching the Vampire Diaries because I like everything Vampire, and there's just not much choice. I wish Moonlight would have made it. Vampire Diaries looks a little like Vampires 90120 to me. Like the good looking frat boy vampire dude says. I wanted to recreate my life. Start all over brand new. What kind of real Vampyre says stuff like that?
The first Underworld movie freaking rocked. If you noticed Beth from Moonlight was in it. Braum Stokers Dracula is easily the best Vampire movie. But there are some good ones comeing out. From Dusk Till Dawn the Tarantino film, with Clooney,Taranteno, Harvey Kitel, and Chech Marin just kicked ass. I would like to see Cirque de Freak "The Vampires Apprentice. It looks interesting and it is a book you can also read. I just love the cute little monkey girl with her tail,LOL. A little juvenille but as long as the appentice does Monkey girl I will be good with it. There is another interesting vamp film. http://www.daybreakersmovie.com/ This is a real jamin film. However I am tired of movies that try to depict vampires in a scientific context. To me Vampires are Occult, Magic, and AntiChrist. So these new movies with nice vampires or logical reasons why people are vampires are lame. There is just an explosion of vampire movies, books, and TV now days. But it is not like the old Gothic Vampire. There is one book out there that actually has Vegan Vampires. What is the fucking point. Whoever wrote that book should be crucified. With all the new vampire movies coming out they are bound to put out a couple good ones. I love the classic old vampire tales, and I get real miffed when I see them screwed with by the Cullens, Vampire Diaries"what were they thinking?" Damon is the only redeming thing in Vampire Diaries. I want a vampire who is from the middle ages, has an army of evil gypsies, and wants to murder people, suck their blood and have twisted sex with women, and screw them to death. Now thats my idea of a hot vampire. I can feel it coming. The real deal sensual, heartless, magic. Why has Stefan not got all over Elena and just rapped her ass off and drained her and turned her. Man these Vampire storis are so pussy. I'ts goig to be a long wait for TrueBlood. : )
Cary wrote: " I am sure I will be watching the Vampire Diaries because I like everything Vampire, and there's just not much choice. I wish Moonlight would have made it. Vampire Diaries looks a little like Vampi..." I watched some of the Vampire Diaries. I whatch it when I can even though it sucks and Elena should be fuckng Stefans brains out and Stefan shoud be sucking her dry. What a chicken shit 90210 type vamp show. Vampires? Stefan looks like Donnie Osmond. Elena looks OK she just needs to loosen up and cut the goodie two shoes routine. She needs to run a reffer and slam a beer, and then just have some recreational sex. : )
Underworld, Dracula, Lost Boys, Blade, From Dusk til Dawn, Interview with a Vampire....I miss Moonlight, I loved that show! Stupid writers strike and reality garbage put that show down....True Blood is my favorite TV show EVER! Well, next to Six Feet Under....And I am very happy with the Vampire Diaries, the books were terrible but the show is great.
Yeah Moonlight could really have been good. I loved Beth and Mick. Also Joseph the oldest vamp in L.A. The show was clever, and had possibilities. TrueBlood is definitly real good. I have been watching reruns of Buffy. Buffy heavily influenced all of this vampire popularity we are seeing today. The vampire as a hero. Daring gay witches, demons from other demensions, mytholology. I always loved the Magic Shop. Don't you wish you could work in a Magic Shop. Hell yeah!
