Daniella glided in confidently, taking a seat where her name was indicated. She took a quick sip of water and looked around, curious.
Samantha quickly walked in, still carrying her folder. She opened it and looked at the faces of the girls. So far, only Ashton and Daniella had come in. She glanced at her watch, she was getting impatient but maintained her calm appearance. "I'd like to thank you two ladies for being on time. Being on time is a trait that is highly valued here." She said with a nod.
"My name is Samantha Adams," she announced to the room. "I am the The Royal Planner for the Selection and Other Palace Events. I will be conducting your lessons on etiquette and giving you tasks. You may address me by my first name."
Lullabelle walked into the dining room to see that three other girls were already there. She sat down in the chair with her name tag in front of it. She leaned back and thought about James as she waited for the other girls to join them.
Daniella nodded and smiled. "Lovely to meet you Ms. Samantha." She was satisfied to see that the small things were going to appreciated.
Princess Gemma and Maddy Adams were currently hidden in a secret passageway in between the dining room and grand hallway. There was a mirror with an ornate frame in the dining room that was actually two-sided, so that the viewers on the passageway side could look in, but the people in the dining room would have no idea. However, because the two young girls were not fully grown, they had to stand on two chairs to get a good look. Their heads just grazed the ceiling. If either of their mothers caught them they'd have the lecture of their lives.Gemma nudged Maddy,"Look, there's your mom! I didn't know she got to go to the dinner... Why are we the only ones who never get invited to things? I want to interrogate the girls."
"I know. It's so unfortunate," Maddy said, shaking her head. "I mean, you are literally the princess of Ilea and you can't even have dinner in your own house!"Meanwhile on the other side, Samantha gestured for the girls who were still standing to have a seat. "Good evening ladies. As I said earlier, I am The Royal Planner for the Selection and Other Palace Events. I will be conducting your lessons on etiquette and giving you tasks. You may address me by my first name." At this point she folded her hands behind her back and began to pace a little. "Tomorrow, you will all meet His Royal Highness Prince Xander Schreave for the first time. Tonight will be a light dinner and a brief etiquette lesson. I am assuming you all would want to be on your best behavior tomorrow, so you would do well to listen to the lesson."
Lullabelle listened to Samantha taking in everything she had said. She sighed slightly, I'll be out of this selection in no time if I keep messing up like this. She thought about James again, but shook her head getting rid of the thoughts.
"Alright," Samantha said with a nod, taking a seat at the head of the long table. "First: The "No Touch Rule". Do not touch his highness unless he touches you first. When he walks in, you may take a small curtsy. I am assuming not all of you know how to execute one correctly so I will demonstrate." She got up from her chair. "Take your right foot, regardless of which is your dominant side, and sweep it around you. Once it has reached about 180 degrees, bend at the knees slightly and bow your head." She then did this in one graceful movement.
"Any questions so far?"
Lullabelle leaned her head against the back of her chair, bored. Being a two she already learned this, it was almost second nature to her even though she hated it. She wanted to hum or do something more productive than this.
"Doesn't seem like much is going on though..." Gemma sighed already tired from standing for so long. They had arrived at least 20 minutes early not sure when the girls would show. "So far I'm not that impressed. They don't seem to have much personality do they? Although, your mom can be a bit intimidating..."
Unconsciously Lullabelle had begun tapping her tapping a rhythm on the table, but she really didn't care much. She gazed over at the mirror on the wall and stared at her reflection. She has the hair of the devil. She's unfit to be in the running as queen. Be quiet or else she might put a curse on you. as she gazed at reflection she thought of all the cruel things that people had said about her as she left to come here.
Waiters began placing food on the table. One of whom was James. He was wearing different clothes now though,a suit instead of his work clothes. His hair was gelled back as well. One of the usual waiters was feeling sick, or so they said, so they made James fill in. He did a little bit of everything for the kitchens. When he thought no one was looking, he winked at Belle, who looked a little out of it. James figured she was nervous.
Harrison came in not much longer and walked up to Samantha. He looked at the girls,"Ladies please talk amongst yourselves." He lowered his voice when talking to Samantha,"Could I have word...In private?"
Lullabelle watched as the waiters brought in the food. She sighed and then realized one of them was James. She rolled her eyes at him when he winked at her and tried not to laugh.
Gemma squealed delightedly when she saw James,"Look it's James! He's so dreamy..." In her excitement she jumped up not thinking, which caused the chair to fall over as she came down. She flailed her arms smacking the wall as she tried to hold on to something. James back was now to the mirror, he was grinning back at Belle when he heard a faint thump. He spun around looking at the mirror, no one else seemed to hear the noise. Under his breath he whispered,"Little devils." As he realized what had probably happened. With a small wave to Belle he speed walked out of the room.
Lullabelle smiled at James as he waved to her. She watched him confused as he walked out of the dining room quickly. She then gazed over at the mirror where she had heard a thud. Realizing that that was why he probably left.
Samantha looked to Harrison a bit surprised as to why he would be interrupting the lesson. "Of course," she said to him. Then turning to the girls, "Ladies, if you will excuse me," and then bowed her head and followed him just outside the room and shut the door. "What is wrong?" Maddy gasped as Gemma fell backward and then rushed to try and catch her. Gemma had grabbed on to anything she could get, which happened to be Maddy's arm, and ended up yanking her down with her. "Woah, are you alright?"
((So Maddie and Gemma are hidden behind the wall a mirror is on. People can't see them. Of course Harrison dragging Samantha away is enough drama))Harrison looked uncharacteristically nervous at the closed dining room door. He pulled Samantha a little farther away,"One of the selected girls has just arrived...Her plane had to make an emergency landing mid-flight. She was told it was because of turbulence and bad weather, but it was actually because the southern rebels were trying to shoot it down. She's going to be here any minute. I wanted to come give you a heads up. How do you want to handle this? Do we tell the girls the real story?"
---
Gemma groaned. "I think I'm okay. Are you? Sorry didn't mean to pull you down." She looked down at Maddie underneath her, which made her surprised to feel warm breath on her neck.
James had snuck up behind Princess Gemma,"You girls are being very naughty. What will your mothers think when I tell them?" He quickly swooped them both onto their feet.
Samantha held up a hand to the officer and he silenced himself immediately. "We tell them nothing. Inform the king and queen of the rising threat. Was the plane damaged? Did the rebels start shooting while it was landing of taking off?" Samantha had the urge to pace but was so startled by the news that she was shocked into place. "Have her in come in as normal, everything should be fine. And when you tell the king, tell him that my humble opinion is that we should begin to increase security around the girls' homes. But that is just the royal planner's opinion." She straightened her suit and smoothed her skirt. "I'm fine too. You know for a princess, you sure are clumsy." Maddy said fixing herself and standing Gemma up. As soon as she was up, Maddy whipped around to see the guard and gasped. "James!" She laughed and ran to hug him. "Oh please don't tell my Mother! She make her take more lessons on gracefulness and then we won't have any more time together!"
((Harrison is actually more like her personal assistant. When I finally get a day off from work I'll make his profile...actually I'll try to make his, the king, and gemma's tonight))"There was minor damage. They actually tried shooting it down mid course.Lady Marigold lives on the other side of the country, in one of the southern providences...Somehow they got a hold of missiles. But they aren't properly trained in handling them so they missed. When they took off the second time, there was some bullets that hit the plane, but they just kept going." He was going to continue but he heard the clicking of high heels. He turned and saw Lady Marigold, who gave a courtesy before introducing herself.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Marigold Burdock."
Harrison nodded at her in way of greeting. Then said to Samantha,"I'll deliver your message right away," before walking the opposite way Marigold had come.

James hugged Maddy back and then pulled away pretending to look conflicted,"I dunno, lying to my superiors could get me in a lot o'trouble. And ya know how I take rules very seriously. You'd owe me a mighty big favor if I had to compromise my morals like that."
Lullabelle gazed curiously at where Samantha and Harrison had left. Sighing she looked back over at the mirror. Wonder what's behind you. She thought curiously. In her home they had had hollow walls and she would always hide behind them when she wanted to be left alone.
((Oh for sure! Yay!))"Thank you Harrison. Good day Ms. Burdock. I am the The Royal Planner for the Selection and Other Palace Events. I will be conducting your lessons on etiquette and giving you tasks. You may address me by my first name." She nodded and gestured for her to follow her through the large double doors. "Currently we are working on some basic etiquette, such as do not touch one of the Royal Family without them touching you first, curtsy when one enters and... " now addressing the entire room, "How to properly introduce yourself. Always say your first and last name, and after they say theirs, repeat it within a phrase such as 'Nice to meet you, blank,'. Shall we try it? Introduce yourselves to all the other girls in the room using a curtsy as well."
Maddy looked down at the ground sheepishly. "Right," she said a little embarrassed. Then perking up, "Wait. What kind of favor?"
Marigold entered the room and curtsied as instructed,"Hello. I'm Marigold Burdock." She smiled shyly at the unfamiliar faces in the room.
Lullabelle looked at the girl, sheepish and soft spoken like most. She grew bored and wasn't really listening to what Samantha had to say. When Marigold introduced herself, the red headed girl sighed. "It's lovely to make your acquaintance, Lady Marigold. I'm Lullabelle Young." She said making direct eye contact with the girl. She hadn't said what she was suppose to say to redirect the conversation, but she had always said it her way for as long as she could remember.
"It's nice to meet you Lullabelle Young." Marigold said loudly, glancing slightly at Samantha to see if she was watching. She took a seat next to Belle and in a softer voice said, "So have I missed anything?"
Lullabelle smiled gently. "Please just call me Belle. And not much besides etiquette." She replied and sighed. She had been learning this since before she could walk, so at the moment it was simply going through the motions, but she did it flawlessly.
