Would you please say a few words by way of introduction (including whether you are interested in HR, studying HR,work in HR or write in HR).

Welcome all those interested in HR! This group is open to all.

I am both a student of HR and work in HR. Looking forward to meeting anyone interested in discussing this important area!

Svetlana (svknyc) | 1 comments Hello - I'm Svetlana Kouznetsova (or Sveta for short). I'm an independent consultant, author, speaker. I joined the group because I wrote a book that may be useful to HR professionals when it comes to interviewing, hiring, and keeping employees with disabilities and learning how to better accommodate them. HR professionals and business owners are among market targets of my book. Not only I'm an expert on the topic, but I also have hearing loss myself and have had to educate HR and EEO directors at organizations I worked for and consulted for.

You can check it out on http://audio-accessibility.com/book.

Hi Jason - welcome! It would be great to have some more discussions - things have been a bit slow of late. Feel free to suggest a book or topic you would like to discuss.

Jason W Miller (jasonwmiller) | 5 comments Dominic,

I would love to suggest a book to discuss. I'll pick one and start a thread later this week. Thanks for the suggestion.

Sam Conniff (samconniff) | 1 comments Hi there,

I'm not IN HR, but have run my own companies, so am very interested in the concept of organisations and productivity.

The best book i've read in this area is called Deep Work, by Cal Newport, anyone read that, would be interesting to hear HR professionals point of view.

It partly inspired some of the book I've written, which also has a perspective on organisational theory, but that's a whole other story.

Good to meet you all

Sam

Dave Clough | 1 comments Hi all! I recently wrote my first book: Perfect Hire Blueprint. The process outlined in the book was developed over many years of hiring for small-medium sized businesses. I'm currently running a Goodreads giveaway and looking forward to participating in this group.
