Paul Harmon (thesaint08d) | 639 comments .....Oh wait thats not the title...I coulda sworn....I mean after all every page has a dagger on it. Im only like 20 % in but.
There is machine gun dagger girl who killed one million guards with her "bag of holding infinite daggers" (patent pending)....seriously how did she move silently across roof tops when weighed down by all those daggers?
All the crazy faceless ladies carry daggers and every one else has a dagger or fears people with daggers under their bed.
Here a dagger there a dagger every page a dagger stab stab.
I mean there is a real missed opportunity for a product placement deal with the Westeros Dagger company...after all as they tell us in Dance of Daggers Winter is coming...and so are the daggers.

Keidy | 525 comments Is there any other way? I think not. ;)

FYI: It's not "dagger stab stab", it's "stabbity stab stab".

P.S. A dagger by any other name cuts just as deep.

Okay. I'll stop now. ^_^;

I gave this book a good try - but 1/4 of the way through started to die of boredom. Very disappointing read.

Ryan | 79 comments I was less bothered by the Dagger Lady one, since the podcast warned about it. But then a couple of chapters later another lady with a belt of daggers shows up. I thought, "wait, she's going under a different name, maybe infiltrating this other guild?" But no, just turns out that belt of daggers is the new black.

Derek (raistlinsghost) | 81 comments Love the term Daggerpunk. I thought applying the grimdark label was giving grimdark a bad name (and come on, thats saying something!) so I haven't been using it. Daggerpunk. Best one word review of this stinker yet.

Cliff | 69 comments After peeking at this thread, I kept waiting for the author to pull out a thesaurus and throw in "stiletto", "dirk" or even "blade." But he stuck to his guns...err...daggers, I mean.

Paul Harmon (thesaint08d) | 639 comments It seems really obvious the author was inspired by A Game of Thrones which is fine in itself but it just feels very obvious which is why above I referred to the Westeros Dagger Company.

Its taken me 2 and a half weeks to get through a third of the book and since if you look at my history I avg a book every 3 days this is killing me a little...

But worst of all I finally make my self sit down and make some progress and what happens? I come across a scene that makes me have to throw it down in disgust...I don't have a lot of problems with fantasy/Fiction violence except rape scenes (men or woman turn me right off) but this was a new low for me..."...She Vomited and he swallowed that too"...WTHell?!? So much for the blueberry acai yogurt I was enjoying...

Derek (raistlinsghost) | 81 comments I'm with you on that part Paul. That was the exact moment that I decided I hated this book. My opinion never changed throughout what was left.

Paul Harmon (thesaint08d) | 639 comments Yeah and I actually like it, but its supposed to be over the top cheese. If thats what Daglish had intended I think I would have enjoyed it more. Like watching a Troma movie...you know what your getting is supposed to be bad.

And Honestly Trejo was a big guy moseying along an open dusty street like Michael Myers after a oversexed babysitter not a girl climbing over rooftops and through fences etc...pretty sure she had more too ...a lot more :)

Joe Informatico (joeinformatico) | 888 comments Well after the first action scene in the book had two lithe teenagers racking up a body count of fifteen or so armoured guards, I figured I was reading over-the-top cheese.

AndrewP (andrewca) | 2672 comments Finished the book today. Wasn't worth the sale price of $1.99 in my opinion. More like they should pay me to read it.
