Tessa (tessabeazley) A lot of people have said that the movie wasn't good - what do you think>?

Tessa (tessabeazley) As I have said in previous discussions - I'm just gonna start this off by saying that I LOVED both the movie and the book in different ways. For me, almost every book I have ever read is better than the movie because there is only so much you can squeeze into a 2 hour movie. This was the same with Divergent. While yes, I standby what I just said, I also tend to look at a series as the books and movies put together and not just the books. For me, a series is never really done until the last movie comes out. That being said, I tend to like books better than movies because I feel like the movie just highlights how amazing the book really is. THIS IS VERY TRUE WITH DIVERGENT. The movie made the whole thing just seem more real in my eyes. Now the one(or two or three) things that kinda bugged me about the movie was Tris's and Four's love story. It just didn't seem quite right in the movie(but don't get me wrong... I am completely shipping sheo!). It didn't seem like they even liked each other till close to the end. And another thing was that in the movie they didn't really make Will, Christina, Tris, and Al good friends. They were kind of just a group of nice initiates instead of the great friends that they were in the book. Lastly, did anyone else realize that they were missing a fear in Tris's landscape??????? That just completely ruins Tris's nickname(six)!!!!Also in regards to the landscape, in the movie she did it like a dauntless but in the book she did it like a divergent. All in all, both were really great and if the movie was just a movie and had not been based on a book then I think it would be one of my favorites. But as it is, I just kind of felt like it was lacking certain elements that really made me love the book(such as NO URIAH!!!!!!)

I totally agree with what you say! I personally loved both the book and the movie too! (I haven't read the second or the third book yet!) I did however hear that they are introducing Uriah in the second movie! I'm not sure if it's true but i hope it is, i really liked his character! The movie was missing the way Al felt about Tris completely! It made me mad because in the book it did make me sad when he died but while i was in the theatre i'm like "WHAT?!? Like that didn't even... No!?" But i guess it worked out because Four said Al was "jealous"... And yeah Four and Tris's relationship?! Like where did that come from in the movie! I know if's hard to express stuff in movies compare to books but seriously!? And the fact that they left out the best line, when Four said he'd only go to the party Peter would throw if Tris died, if there was chocolate cake! Anyways sorry that was longer than i expected!

Tessa (tessabeazley) YES! I WAS SO MAD THEY DIDN'T PUT THE CAKE QUOTE IN!!!!!

Brooke | 30 comments Are you serious!? Wow well it's amazing!

Alyson Stone (alysonserenastone) I thought they were both well done.

Lejla The book was way better! I thought the screen writers left out the best parts of the book, and I wish Uriah was in the movie.
