The Test
It was by lifting a boulder that Theseus, grandson of the king of Troezen, first proved himself a hero. Theseus was sixteen at the time. He had been raised by his grandfather and his mother, Princess Aethra. One day the princess called Theseus to her side. It was time, she said, that he learned of his father, who was the ruler of a mighty kingdom. This was news to Theseus, who had been under the impression that his father was one of the gods. "Before I divulge his identity," said the princess, "you must meet the challenge your father has set you." Years ago, the king had hefted a mighty stone. (Dr. Samantha Owens #3)

This is the third and final book in the Dr. Sam Owens series. It was based in Nashville but Sam has recently moved to Washington DC to teach forensics at Georgetown University. While waiting for classes to start she is drawn into a bizarre case when she receives a letter from an unknown man asking her to investigate his death which will no doubt be ruled a suicide. She shrugs the letter off as some kind of nutcase but when she finds out that the man has just died she is sucked in. There is a lot going on in this story. It was a real page turner that got me from the very start.

I've just come from Wacky's/Hawaii

Read which has a protective character in it. It's a very good book, though very disturbing. I didn't work out how it all fitted together until it was revealed by the author which is rare.

Quest 4 -- Ahh Walkers

☠ Daryl Dixon: (view spoiler)[He is the bad boy of the group with the big heart that get shown more and more as the series progresses. Daryl is a tracker and excellent with a crossbow preferring it to knives and guns. He is always seen shooting an arrow in a walkers head then going and pulling it out of the walker so it can be used again. He started out as a loner in the group but became more and more depended on becoming part of the group and Rick's right hand man. In the 4th season he is seen as becoming the leader of the runs the group has to make to get food and necessities. He is also really cool riding on his motorcycle instead of a car. He is a good guy that just needed time to open up. He is my favorite character in the show.

I got hold of this as a kindle freebie and it was an enjoyable read.This is the 3rd in the Big Bad Wolf series and revolves around the story of Danny the healer and the love triangle she finds herself in. There are quite a few sub-plots in this book which are hard to keep up with at times. I suppose starting mid way through a series is generally not a good idea

This wasn't as good as the first book in the series but it was still okay and funny. Again they have to fight for survival, this time not only their own but the survival of all vampires. As Reginald is the one with the brains he has to figure out how to convince the enemy that they should be allowed to survive as a species.
