How the Wand Looks: Dean's wand is a deep, rich brown color, with a thick handle and a tapered end. The very top of his handle has a dark red stone inset in it. Around the handle are inscribed various protective runes and symbols. The wood has a glossy finish to it, and is rather shiny. Dean keeps it in good condition, and polishes it thoroughly twice weekly.

Dean has the kind of build that you can only get from a lot of physical work and an active lifestyle; he is also afflicted by being what has been affectionately called "permanently rough around the edges." He has dark, dark blonde hair that he keeps short enough that it could as easily just be called brown, and hazel eyes that tend towards green. He has a strong jaw, and a small amount of stubble around his jawline. His nose is angled slightly upward, with a small bump on the bridge.

Other: Dean is Muggleborn, and actually would rather wear Muggle garments than robes. When he goes to Quidditch games, or outside of Hogwarts, he prefers multiple layers of Muggle clothing, usually consisting of work-worn jeans, CAT boots, a plain t-shirt or henley, a plain flannel, and a black leather jacket. Not to mention as much crap as he can shove in his pockets and forget.
History: Dean comes from a family of Muggles. His mother was very proud of his powers, and it was hard for her to not tell the neighbors about his skills. However, his father, although not disgusted, couldn't wrap his brain around the fact that his own son was a wizard. He eventually talked his mother into sending him away to a Muggle boarding school, claiming that he was close to losing his mind (because he was so "worried" about Dean's "wellbeing"). When Dean arrived at the school, he was a very quiet, rather shy six-year-old. However, that all changed when his powers were discovered by his classmates. They all shunned him for it, and one of the older kids (along with a gang) bullied him daily. He eventually grew to be tough, and by the time he was ten, he had beaten up every member of the gang that had picked on him. He was expelled from the school, and his father was forced to take him back about four months prior to his eleventh birthday. He wasn't happy about it at all. When he arrived at his house, he was in for a surprise: His mother had died of childbirth, and he had a little brother, four years of age. His name was Sammy. Sammy immediately accepted him as his brother, even though he had just met him. Dean was amazed. No one he knew had ever really liked him, because they either thought his powers too weird, or were scared of him because of his tough demeanor. In the four months before his eleventh birthday (and receiving of his Hogwarts acceptance letter), Sammy became his best friend. When he received his letter, Sammy was genuinely happy for him. Unlike his father, who was only happy because he'd finally be rid of Dean. Dean didn't make many friends at Hogwarts because of his rough outlook, independent ways, and Muggle lineage, but he got great marks because of his willingness to learn and develop his wizardry. He graduated as Head Boy, and was a Gryffindor Beater. He excelled at this, because of his excellent upper body strength. After studying abroad for years (After graduating, he had traveled around in search of any rising Dark wizards, becoming a sort of self-proclaimed Auror. He paused his work only to see his brother.), he returned to Hogwarts after receiving a letter inviting him to come and teach. The headmaster, who had noted his excellent potion-brewing talents, was in need of a Potions-master. Knowing that accepting a teaching post would give him a chance to help protect the coming generation, Dean immediately accepted, planning not to become a friend to his students, but a father.
Personality: Though a shy, young boy when he first attended Muggle boarding school, by the age of ten Dean was tougher than most boys his age. He had to learn to defend himself, and not by using magic. Because of this, not many at Hogwarts could best him even in a physical bout, which made him a bit of a loner. Growing up, he was both hated and feared, even more so because he got better than satisfactory grades. Now, as an adult, he's very protective of his little brother (Sammy, a 32 year old Muggle), and of basically any student of his who feels left out in any way. He doesn't play favorites, though. He doesn't feel the need to be a friend to his students; rather, he he considers himself a father to them. He is willing to talk to his students about anything, and isn't afraid to reprimand them. Many of his students fear or despise him, because of his tough outlook and strict ways. But he has their best interests at heart, and some students can see through his tough act and see the kind man who lives inside. Dean's not afraid to admit that he's Muggleborn, and rarely smiles. When he does smile, though, it's genuine. He's a strict teacher, but it's because he's really serious when it comes to protecting his students. Although he is usually quite straight-faced, though, he has a really good sense of humor, and isn't afraid to crack a joke in class. He also has a soft spot for mischievous students, and as long as their pranks aren't dangerous, he's willing to cover for them. Most students think him unable to have fun... but one might be surprised. After all... he was one of the biggest prankers back when he attended Hogwarts. Just ask the headmaster...

Angel is a Barn owl. She has a pure white face, with a light brown rim around it, which Dean refers to as her "halo". The rest of her head and neck is a golden brown color. Her underbelly is of a soft white downy material. Her lower back and plumage is patterned with rich browns, light tans, pure whites, and deep blacks.
Other: Dean's Patronus is a dragon. He was a Gryffindor Beater, and the Head Boy when he was a student. He always tries to gather together what's left of his family for holidays, but never succeeds. His brother has always looked up to him. Two years ago, Dean gave his brother a puppy named Riot as a birthday gift.
