What do you think of Blythe? What do you think of what she's telling Bee? How do you think Harper handled her date with Ryan?

I think Blythe is tied by her loyalty and duties and she is being manipulated but I still suspect her like crazy. I couldn't help but laugh at how the author made us think that Harper shared her secrets with Bee when really she made up a better excuse to keep doing her duties as Paladin.

About the date. I don't feel any spark between Ryan and Harper.. Their relationship seems so mechanical and it just feels like they are together forcefully just because they have to be.. I love the relationship between Harper and David!! I really do feel like he has always liked her and she is just slowly beginning to realize her feelings for him..

Is the Hex Halls trilogy this good??? Cuz now I really wanna read more books by this author ;)

I love the Hex Hall series (I'm finishing it now), but I think I loved Rebel Belle more! If you love Rebel Belle, you should definitely check out Hex Hall. It has the same type humor and funny, sarcastic lead :)

I picked up the nearest weapon I could lay my hands on: a stapler. I lifted it, going for “menacing.” I admit it lacked a certain elegance, but hey. It was worth a shot. David placed his hand on my arm and pushed it back down.

This part.. just WOW. I couldn't stop laughing. David can be so funny at times XD
And I loved how the author made the most serious situation funny -- like that time Saylar found out Harper is the new Paladin, such an intense moment but saylar just swore and it was like a comic relief! These are the types of books i love!

I think that Blythe has an agenda of her own and she's using the Ephor's agenda as a cover. She seems like she would've been crazy regardless of if she were a Mage or not.
I also think that Harper is doing the right thing by letting Bee in on some of her secrets even though those are technically lies too. Bee is her best friend and she does deserve some kind of answer to Harper acting all weird.
As for her date with Ryan I thought that went horrible. I wouldn't be surprised if he broke up with her eventually. I feel like she doesn't even care if they're together or not because all she cares about is how she looks in front of her friends. I don't think she's being fair to Ryan if she doesn't really want to be with him. And come on, we can so feel the sexual tension between David and Harper anyway.

I HATE BLYTHE. I don't care if she's working for someone else, I don't care if she has some tragic story, she's playing with magic that's way too dangerous. Bah!

As for the date.. WHAT A FIASCO. Man that was tragic. but the scene with David, where they both acknowledged that they were being weird, was so adorable!

I love how David calls her 'pres' -- i find that adorable for some reason!

Blythe. She was obviously lying to Harper and David about the night of Cotillion. I mean, why would she tell all that secret information to the enemy?
As for the date, Harper needs to end things with Ryan, like, right now! He is acting so distant toward her, and it seems like he doesn't even care about what happens to her anymore. And what's up with him and MB?
On the other hand, I absolutely adore Harper and David together, I hope they'll both get a happy ending!

I'm starting to really enjoy the story now! The chemistry between Harper & David is so lovely, and I wish Ryan would just be gone for good. I don't dislike Ryan, but I really like David!

I think this book could end up in many directions. I'm honestly not sure how it will end! Blythe really creeps me out. The way she pounced on Harper was super psycho, but I think that because she is so young she truly believes that she can help (and not harm) David.

Something strange is also going on with Harper's mom as well. I wonder how that will play out!

Can we all just acknowledge that Harper went to sleep in David's jacket? Oh the feels...I can't even.

I don't think Blythe told Harper and David everything. I think there's more to what she's letting on. She might not even know everything herself but I think she knows more than she's saying. As for Harper telling Bee about the martial arts, I kind of wished she had told Bee the truth. I know it would have seemed insane at first (just like she thought the martial arts were) but I think it could have been cool to have at least one person on the outside know the truth. Buffy had Xander and Willow, why can't Harper have Bee? As for the date with Ryan, she should have definitely apologized for what happened. I also think she should just break up with Ryan already. She doesn't care about him anymore and doesn't mind if he likes another girl, plus it's obvious she's starting to fall for David. I actually think Ryan and Mary Beth would be good together. She's not really a girly-girl and she likes some of the things he does, I think they'd have more in than him and Harper.

Blythe of course is awful. I'm so curious about her power though... Why does she have so much where Saylor has barely any? I hope Saylor is telling us the whole truth.

Is it just me or does David and Harper remind you of Clary and Simon? Their banter is gold. I also love how they may argue over remedial things but when it's something serious they stop their fighting and just start caring for each other.

The Lobster Bisque scene was incredibly awkward and real.

I'm so digging this book right now.

Oh and Bee is the coolest best friend ever. She just wants to be a part of Harpers life and that's admirable. She is there to back up Harper and I think it's awesome.

I think that Saylor just doesn't chose to use that much power at a time because it's dangerous, at least that how I interpreted it. : )

Honestly, why is Harper and Ryan even together anymore? It is absolutely one of those typical high school movie couples that are together in the beginning but then they break up. When will these two do that?!

I absolutely love Harper and David together, their comments and the way they act around each other, come on! I'm just waiting for a kiss to happen!

I must say that I love Bee, she really is a great friend so far and she accepts what Harper is doing, even if she doesn't know the entire truth. She's a super good best friend.

Now back to the book and how things will turn out at cotillion!

Blythe is extremely confusing to me. I dislike her very much, but I still can't understand why she gave up (what I presume to be false or exaggerated) information when she was more than willing to die for the cause. I guess she wanted to brainwash David before she met her death.

Harper's cover up was definitely clever, but I doubt it will hold up. I kind of feel bed for her because she has to lie to the people that trust her most. And as for Ryan, CAN I SLAP HIM? I mean yes, circumstance are a bit odd at the moment and David is an obvious choice in terms of Harper, but really? He should be supporting her; he obviously really loves her. And because of his behavior, I have come to hate Mary Beth.

Also, is it strange that I keep picturing David as Ansel Elgort? I guess it is since Ansel doesn't have blonde hair, wear glasses or remotely conform to the descriptions of David.

I absolutely hate Blythe, she's such a liar and she's making up some story to Harper and David and expects them to believe her wondrous story that's obviously fake. She's so stupid and tries to be sneaky when we all suspect that something's obviously fishy.

I loved Ryan in the beginning, but now he's just done with Harper, at least I hope so. David's a much better match for the pres (AWW) over here and he obviously has loved her for a long time. I love it when Harper unexpectedly meets him in the wildest places and when something embarrassing happens to her and David always tries to help her cover up. :') The romance is too cute.

I kind of feel bad for Bee because she really doesn't know what's going on. But, it's a hard thing to explain and I think that Bee would just laugh and think she's crazy. Hopefully their friendship won't be wrecked by the end of this book because I love their bond.

The banter between Harper and David is so cute:) and I love that Bee is a supportive friend. It's nice to see female friendships not falling apart the second one starts doing something new.

Blythe scares the shit out of me, I don't trust her but I don't think she's working alone.
That date just, no man. DISASTER they need to break up, not because I'm a Harvid shipper (cause I am, I mean #Harvid is my new otp) but they just don't connect anymore. Ryan is trying to save it cause he's clearly in love with Harper but she doesn't care anymore and he's tired of trying so why not call it quits?
THAT SCENE AT THE TEA ROOM MY HEART IS MELTING! I just love Harper and David so much, the chemistry is undeniable and they way he told Harper "She's not you" made my heart ache, he obviously been having feelings for her for a while now. I was really expecting a kiss, but I was happy when she slept with his jacket on. <3<3<3<3<3

The finale is going to be epic I can feel it. I'm totally shipping Harvid right now. So hard I want it to become canon. But anyway I'm surprised at Ryan's insensitivity towards Harper I mean really, whining because she won't spend time with you? You try being president and all of this, not to mention the added job of a paladin. Jeeze. Can't wait to see what the end has in store!!!

PREDICTION:
Leigh-Anne HAS to have something to do with all this! My original thought was that she was the previous oracle but that couldn't be right because the accident happend way into David being alive.

Don't trust b at all. I love the part when she bumps into David and gets soup all over her. I think she should let Ryan have mb. There is something between David and her (sparks). I don't feel it with Ryan.

I don't like Blythe at all! I don't think she told them all that she knows and her large amount of powers is really suspicious. I don't like how Ryan is acting, he just seems super whiney.

I love love David even though I sometimes feel really bad for Ryan; I know David is blonde but I can not stop thinking of him looking like Dylan O'Brien.

Anyways, I know Leigh-Anne has to do with something, maybe she didn't die in a crash car after all.

I'm very suspicious of Blythe (I don't even know how to pronounce that name). I liked the scene where they fought her, all bad-ass-ery and stuff. I'm deffinetly digging deeper into shipping Harvid. That said, I really liked when they spent their alone time at Annemarie's. Altough, I do feel a bit sorry for Ryan. Poor guy. Still, I just don't ship him with Harper - especially since he's apparently taking interest in Mary Beth, or MB.
I love Bee's character. She's an amazing friend to Harper and they are really good together. I wish Harper could tell her the truth though. I feel sorry for her for not being able to share this secret.
I'm very excited to see what happens next.

Here's an idea.
Say there's this girl who can perform magic stuffs and wants to MURDER you. Do you A) take her to an adult with experience which means puting her in your car and driving to said adults house or B) KILL THE WITCHHHHH.

I think Blythe is coo coo for coco puffs but that there is a greater danger/villain waiting in the wings. And come on David and Harper are so cute together! And she fell asleep in his jacket (a jacket with kick ass elbow patches I might add). I SHIP IT! ;D

I love the character development! David and Harper are getting even cuter together :) Urg Bythan (sorry I forgot her name) is so annoying! She pretty much ruined Harper's date but I didn't really mind since Harper and David...haha. I'm really excited and I plan on finishing this book tonight :)

I feel so bad for Ryan because of the way Harper has had to push him away. so not fair for him! Really enjoying the book! can't wait to see where it leads next!

Ok this part of the book was completely filled with interesting stuff.

The whole thing with Blythe...was just cray. But when she was saying how the two paladins that had been left to protect Alaric eventually were allowed to kill him and the whole "barrier" thing was broken, I got scared for David because of his dream that Harper killed him. I'm afraid eventually that's going to have to happen.

I officially HATE Ryan. I don't know why, but I just don't like him. Harper should totally go out with David, they have such a better connection and they already spend so much time together anyway. And David is so sweet, the whole thing at Miss Annmarie's place was...aww. They would be soooo cute together. #Harvid

Also, the thing with bee. At first I actually thought she told her about it but I was kind of relieved when she didn't. It was kind of humorous to me that I totally didn't see it coming that she would just make something up rather than tell the truth.

Anyway I'm almost finished with the book and I'm totally gonna finish it today in time for the liveshow this evening so CAN'T WAIT. This will actually be my first actual read-a-long and with this group and the first liveshow that I'll be watching. I hope to be able to join you guys with all the other books you read. #Rebellion

I am so over this Harper, Ryan, David love triangle. Harper needs to break it off with Ryan already. We all can see that this relationship is clearly not going anywhere, it has run its course, it is over. I understand that Harper still wants to keep some semblance of a normal life, and that having Ryan as her boyfriend is part of that, but she just needs to let go already.

I don't like the feelings that Harper is developing towards David. It feels really forced in the story. I feel that he is not a strong enough male lead for her. Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. You have this kick ass female lead in Harper, then you have this male lead who just cries and stutters about.

Also not loving the fact that Saylor is training Harper. She has no experience in fighting or being a Paladin. What in the world is she going to teach Harper?

I do really like the writing style of Rachel Hawkins. I find it very easy and quick to read. She is very talented, but this book is just seriously lacking for me.
