This weekend I...(lasagna.)
I drove to Manly to meet some friends for lunch at the Wharf hotel to celebrate a birthday. The weather was a little windy but it was lovely anyway.
We assembled half of my son's new, red Ikea dresser, our dog broke my parent's coffee pot (she is addicted to coffee...) and I played Hearthstone + we had friends over for dinner on Sunday:-)
Your dog is addicted to coffee? I don't think I've seen that. I caught my giant Weim with both feet on the stove looking for leftovers. Luckily it wasn't hot. Also what is Hearthstone?
Anything related to bowling is guaranteed to make your weekend seem long. I am glad my kids have stopped attending bowling birthday parties now. I get the shakes just thinking about it. :)
fertilized my grass and planted Coleus and Coreopsis. Talked to my parents about whatever they wanted.
I will be playing board games all day Sunday. My nephew's wife will be 29 and that is her birthday wish. We love games, that's why I was curious about Hearthstone.

A new online card game made by Blizzard, it's fuuun :-)
What kinds of board games do you play?
Lots and lots of board games. Yesterday we played Smarty Party, Tie One On, Partini, Pictionary and 30 seconds. We have several music-related ones like HummBug, Spontuneous, Hummble and Catch Phrase.
I hate board games, but my kids will want me to play with them over Easter. Anyone want to visit me?
I like playing a limited number of games. I like 500 and pictionary. Mr G & I play against the kids in pictionary. They whip our butts every time. Yet we are still the best at it. :)
We have a 4 day weekend for Easter.
Eating out sounds like a great plan. I don't get any extra days off BOOHOO. I am leaving a bit early tomorrow for a dr. appointment. We are having dad's kids and families over for Easter as his birthday is the 23rd. No one can give me a straight answer though, so I'm expecting 0-17 guests. Gail - I would love to relieve you of your game-playing duties.
That makes it a little tough to cater for Carol.
I find it a little weird that a bunch go heathens like us Aussies, celebrate Christian holidays, yet a country dominated by Christianity in politics like America doesn't.
I have no plans this weekend. We usually go away at this time, but due to Mr G's work we find ourselves at home. We never celebrated Easter outside the immediate family.

*giggles* enjoy the wine Zardoz.
Sweet! When typing in zar, my phone recognized who you were!

Orange pills and breathing televisions! I haven't seen inanimate objects breathing since that time I ate some funny mushrooms.
Anzac public holiday + weekend = a lovely long weekend here.
I am trying to motivate my daughter to exercise a little more. Plus I've been baking. I have a banana cake in the over now. You would think these two things were counter productive, but no. She isn't over weight, simply incredibly unfit. I get the bonus of a little exercise myself. Win-win!

Ha, and you only have one kid, just starting!
Go mini-Barb! My 6 year old great niece had a dance competition about 1.5 hours away from me, and 3 hours away from them. We all stayed at the casino in the area. We ate, gambled, enjoyed the competition, and ate some more. I have no idea what place they came in, I think the scoring went something like this:gold
high gold
platinum
diamond
But each rating was not applied to each category.
Went to a Three Stooges film festival at the Redford Theater.
Legalize Shemp!

That sounds like crazy fun. We could not come up with any last names of Stooges for a board game question.
Curly, Moe and Shemp Howard.
Larry Fine.

It was a blast. It finally happened. The twins uh, received their monthly bills simultaneously. We had to get the hell out of the house.
Yesterday I took them to the library. They argued all the way there - took a break while inside the library - then argued all the way home.

I'm going to see the college production of Young Frankenstein, having lunch at the summer fish fry with my bff coworker, and watching my daughter's last college orchestra concert. Phew!
Revived TC and made cookies.
Painted my toenails.
And didn't bring home any more than one folder of papers.

I tenaciously tried to get the d***** lasagna made!!Interruptions, missing ingredients, and a host of other things !conspired I tell you! to slow me down.
This evening. Before I go to sleep. I WILL BAKE THAT DISH OF LASAGNA!! O.K. it isn't a big deal but how hard should it be to find that little bit of time to get the oven pre-heated to the right temp and plop that big pan in the oven?? HUH?
Off to walk the dog . . . Really, four legs, fur, drool,
Never mind. :)
I made lasagna last week. I made two and froze one. It is currently the dish of choice when I ask my son what he wants for dinner. :)
Beautiful! We had to deliver/pick up radiators so no lasagna again. And tomorrow's meditation, so that is crock pot dinner day.
We enjoyed the races this weekend. There is a dirt track about 10 miles away. This week's extra race was spectator races - "run what you brung." 17 crazy people in their street legal cars and trucks. The old cop car spun out or he would have won for sure. The announcer likes to tell the story of the kid that borrowed his grandma's car and smacked into the wall.
That lasagna looks wonderful; much better than the frozen one we had last night for dinner (though it was pretty good).
(This weekend I)Chased our strictly-an-indoor-cat around the house, barefoot thru gravel and ivy, when she decided to explore the great outdoors. Luckily she ran to the front door (from the back) and crouched down and I caught her. Sheesh, I guess she just got a wild hair or something. We had words.
Yard work this weekend. Way too much of it, especially in the heat. I got out there early and quit by 10am because it's just too hot.
Not this weekend, but last weekend's activities included an Open House at a nearby Fire Department. They have built a new station house for fire and emergency vehicles. A little different 4th of July weekend activity.
Quiet weekend here. The weather has turned icy cold. (Or as icy cold as it gets here) I took the kids for a long drive up the coast to help get my daughters driving hours up. We had a lovely brunch in a cute cafe then returned home. 3 hours driving clocked up.
The freaking Drive In screen was destroyed in a storm, did I tell you guys? Luckily, they are fundraising to get it rebuilt. Insurance didn't cover everything.
This weekend my wife and I hung out with another couple. Well, not all weekend. Just Friday night. I'm not good at that sort of thing but Friday night went well. It felt almost like a date.
This weekend my husband, his sister, and I went to an open house of their childhood home (their family sold it and moved over 11 years ago). We got to walk through the house and around the yard (~6 acres). It was very cool to see where he spent some of his childhood and to see where hie stories took place. They had some mixed feelings about it but I would love to tour my childhood home!
I start to get the shakes when I think about kids bowling parties...went to just one one hundred too many.
I am still trying to get my daughters driving hours up so she can get her licence. She has little lapses in concentration that scare me silly.

Someone I once worked with came to town this weekend to run the Omaha marathon. Hadn't seen him in 18 years. He belongs to a club called Marathon Maniacs. Since retiring in 2009 he has
He lives part of the year near you, Youndy, in Ponte Vedra. Now we are seriously looking at a Del Webb community there for possible retirement location. I'll be down that way next month for a conference and may head down and check it out.

Then I went to see Run Boy Run. After my niece decided on her baby's name, Cora Belle, she looked up songs and such. She found a nice one by this band and they happened to play in our town this weekend! She wrote to them and they were very enthused to meet an actual Cora Belle. They sounded great, very talented. But I like my fiddling to be more of the foot-stomping variety. This is likely a video of the song but I can't get it to play right now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ie5PQP...
