((Okay good.))
Kat entered the arena and took a small breath. She loved it here. Most of her training took place in this location. "So..." Kat's eyes wandered to the swords along one side of the arena. "Have you tried any swords yet?" She asked.
Kat entered the arena and took a small breath. She loved it here. Most of her training took place in this location. "So..." Kat's eyes wandered to the swords along one side of the arena. "Have you tried any swords yet?" She asked.
"Yeah," Max walked over to the rack and picked up the sword she felt was right. "It's this one," she said.
Kat followed the girl over to the rack. As soon as Max had picked her's she nodded and promptly picked up the one that she used every time. Using the sword's tip, Kat pointed to an area in the arena. "Show me your fighting stance please." She requested.
Kat nodded approval. Max was good when it came to that part. She looked down to check of the girl's feet were shoulder width apart. It would appear that they were. Quickly, Kat walked over to stand in front of Max. She stood into a fighting stance and lifted her sword up like she was ready for battle. "Now lift yours," She head a head gesture to the girl's sword, "As if you were going to attack me."
"Take a swing. I'll correct you as we go." Kat promised.
Kat parried it easily then made a jab at Max, all the while saying, "Aim for me. Not my sword. My sword is not the thing that will win you a battle."
Kat jumped out of the way and made a soft lunge for Max's sword arm.
Max quickly brought her arm back before she was cut. She stumbled back a bit then caught her balance.
Kat grinned at Max's arm movement. "Good." She praised.
Kat brought her sword up so that it made a soft clanging noise. She began to twist it, a disarming motion.
Max saw what Kat was doing and quickly let go of her own sword. Max then kicked her feet out to trip Kat, hoping she would fall.
Kat was used to fighting. It was the only thing that she had ever trained to do. She stank at pretty much everything else. Correction: Everything else. Kat barely had time to raise her eyebrow at Max's odd move. Who let go of their sword? Just like that? Apparently Max. She lunged out of the way and away from Max's tripping motion and dove for her sword.
Max was barely out of reach of her sword. She knew she would lose if she didn't do something quick. She kicked out her foot and the sword slid away from Kat.
"Well played." She complimented. "But you are still weaponless." Without any more hesitation, Kat tucked her sword so that she could easily somersault without cutting herself over to Max's sword. She immediately performed the clean roll that had taken her years to master. If she wasn't in the middle of trying to win, she would have congratulated herself.
Max watched as Kat got to the sword first. 'What to do? What to do?' she thought. Then she had an idea. Quickly, Max got up and ran to Kat and tackled her. "I may be weaponless, but I still have strength," she said.
For some odd reason, Kat giggled. "Yes, you do have strength. But I still have a sword that I can stop you with." She warned.
"Some warrior you are." She joked with a smile then got up after Max. "You did really well for claiming not being able to fight. If I didn't know you, I would think you to be a daughter of Ares."
"Yeah, thanks. Being a child of Hecate doesn't really help that much in a fight," she said with a small laugh.
Kat smirked. "Learn to use your magic. That is really helpful in a fight." She offered.
"What like this?" she asked. Max was using the mist to make Kat feel like she was on the Eifel tower in France. She stopped after a second. "That doesn't' exactly help," she said.
"Yeah, uhh, when you know your opponent hates heights, that's helpful." Kat said, nearly retching. She despised heights. Heights were like her...ugh.
"Nah." She grinned weakly after the mist had passed.
"Nuh uh." Kat retorted. "Ad if I was, why would I tell you? I fighter should keep her secrets..."
"If you're up for it." Her smile faded and she eyes Max's sword hand. What if she uses magic again? She know I'm afraid. Kat thought. Oh for Ares' sake, Kat! You are a child of Ares! This will help you learn how to conquer your fear.
Kat snorted. "Of course I am." She gripped the hilt of her sword tighter and drew it into a ready position.
Max did the same. She swung for Kat's wrist that was holding the sword, hoping to cut it and force her to drop her sword.
Kat parried and then aimed for Max's stomach. Her eye were narrowed and she was concentrating on her next move.
Kat stepped back to give Max time to stand up. She may be a child of Ares, but she didn't play dirty like him. Everyone needed a chance.
Max got up, embarrassed, her cheeks were flushed. She quickly got up and wondered why Kat hadn't just taken the chance to win the fight.
She smirked at Max's flushed cheeks. "Come on now." She invited. For fun, she spread her arms out in a gesture that said, 'come and get me.'
That made Max's cheeks flush even more. She cautiously stepped to Kat and swung her sword at Kat's side.
Kat's sword was in her other hand, so she had to quickly switch hands, another skill that took her forever to master, and blocked Max's sword. The girl was pretty fun to play and toy around with, in her opinion. And she wasn't bad either. Definitely someone with potential. Kat admired that.
Kat shook her head. "You're forgetting your strength, Max. It's kind to let me play out mine, but if you're gonna win, you have to let loose yours." She hated suggesting it, but she was here to help her, not to tear her down. And if magic was how she was going to win, so be it.
Max thought for a second then realized what Kat was saying. She raised her eyebrows and concentrated. She showed Kat on the Eiffel tower again, except this time, Max was with her. "Let's fight up here," Max said, readying her sword.
"You are nuts." Kat said sickly. Her face was slightly green and her head was spinning. I'm nuts for suggesting this. She decided.
