Hooked on YA books 2015 discussion

I would recommend all of the books I've read but if I had to choose one it would have to be "Girl in Translation" by Jean Kwok. As a multicultural book, there are so many topics that can be discussed using this story. From what it means to comes from another country, to learn a new language, a new lifestyle while holding on to your roots. What it means to try to fit in with your peers. As an immigrant who has no family support, how one survives working in sweat shops day in and day out and hoping one day for a better future. I believe that this book gives students a good idea of what some immigrants have to deal with when they come to the United States for a better future but find out it's not that easy especially if you don't know the language and there is no support. How does one survive? Definitely recommend this book..
