Anybody interested in a buddy read of this second book of The Strain trilogy? Would like to go on and start within the next day or so because I have a lot lined up for the end of the month and beginning of May.

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments I am loaded up with books right now, too, but I am eager to get back into this trilogy.

Yes, she gave it to me also but I can't get it to load on my tablet. It is on my laptop, but won't show up in my Kindle app on my tablet. Argh! When you want to start Adam?

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments I just did. I had troible loading onto my reader, too, Cindy. I eventually discovered I needed to make space for it, so I deleted a few books I already read and it worked.

Angie | 623 comments Thanks for putting up this threads Cindy:-) The Strain thread was getting a bit messed up, and I'm only reading one book with this name as well lol.

I'm up to page 180 so I'll stop reading until everyone catches up. The book is six months on from the end of the Strain though and things are getting desperate for our group now. I don't really like DR Goodweather but that might be a rollover from the last book.

Yep, I'm once again finding myself running behind. Reading three books right now and every one of them deal with zombies or vampires. Ahhh!

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments I am up to 20% which is around 60 pages, I guess. The scene I just read featured the busload of recently blinded kids. So far this one is moving at a fair clip.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm way behind you guys. I'm only at 6% but I don't have any appointments at all tomorrow. Should be able to read all day.

message 10: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments Sounds like my favourite kind of day Cindy:) I wish all my days could be like that:o)

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

Well I'm up to 20%. Hopefully, I get more read today.

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments I am at 45% and still enjoying the book. There is a lot of back story here for Setrakian, which is never dull.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

You have that right Adam. Not dull at all.

message 14: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments The authors have done a great job with this story arc. It has to be a huge challenge to write a trilogy and not have it bog down in the middle book.

message 15: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments Is it hard to write a book with another person Adam? This book is set over two days as well, apart from the flash backs.

I'm up to p.225 (view spoiler)

message 16: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments I wouldn't say it is hard, really. The novel Evans and I are writing is the first experience I have had in the realm of being a coauthor. As it stands now, we are both enjoying it.

Gregor Xane (gregorxane) | 106 comments I think Hogan did most of the heavy lifting as far as the writing goes on this series. I'm pretty sure del Toro came up with the concept and detailed story notes that Hogan worked from.

message 19: by Angie (new)

Angie | 623 comments Has anyone read any of Chuck Hogans other novel? I looked at them on his goodreads page but didn't go as far as wish listing any of them.

Chris those (view spoiler)

message 20: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 603 comments You're right, Gregor. I have not read any of Hogan's other books but I might check one out.
